Primark has plans to invest over £100 million in its UK operations, generating more than 700 new jobs.

The fashion retailer celebrates 50 years of its presence on the British high street this year,

As a result, the investment will fund the opening of three new stores, three relocations, and two major expansions.

The company will also refurbish 15 existing locations to enhance sustainability.

The job announcement builds on its previous announcement of significant investment in November 2022.

The new stores will debut in Bury St. Edmunds on March 6, with additional openings in Teesside Park and Glasgow Fort scheduled for later.

Moreover, the London Westfield Stratford store will nearly double, becoming Primark's second-largest outlet in London.

Primark UK retail director Kari Rodgers said: “We’ve changed a lot in the 50 years since we opened the doors on our first store in Great Britain in Derby back in 1974, but at our heart, we are still the same.

“We’re as committed as ever to offering the very best value on the high street and making great fashion more affordable and accessible for everyone.

“This latest investment will mean bigger and better stores, hundreds of new jobs across the country and shows our ongoing commitment to the UK high street.”
