Asda to end Blue Light Card discount for NHS and emergency workers

ASda

Asda is ending its Blue Light Card discount for emergency service workers.

The scheme was reinstated seven months ago but will stop on New Year's Eve.

The discount was introduced to show appreciation to those who serve in emergency services, such as the NHS, police, fire, social care industry, and armed forces.

The supermarket chain established the 10 percent off offer last year.

Customers can get discounts on meals, George clothing and household goods, toys, presents, and optical items by using the Blue Light Card.

In order to ensure that people and families around the UK "enjoy a memorable Christmas," Asda extended the 10 percent discount once before, from January 31, 2022, to December 31, 2022.

Asda eliminated the 12-week requirement for the colleague discount until October, allowing new hires to enjoy a 10 percent discount on their purchases as soon as they start working there.
