PayPal is planning to cut up to 85 jobs from its Irish workforce, marking the second round of layoffs in Ireland this year.
The company informed its 1,600 Irish employees on Tuesday, June 18.
However, PayPal said these proposed changes are subject to consultation, and no redundancies will occur until the consultation process is concluded.
In February, PayPal announced a reduction of 205 jobs in its Irish operations.
PayPal CEO Alex Chriss took over in September last year.
He said the company would reduce its global workforce by about nine percent this year to “right-size.”
This involves direct cuts and eliminating open roles throughout the year.
The firm said: “PayPal is committed to ensuring that colleagues who leave under the proposed changes are treated fairly.”
The company is offering enhanced redundancy and support packages to assist affected employees.

In March of last year, PayPal cut 62 jobs in Ireland and announced plans to close its Dundalk offices, with staff continuing to work remotely.
Despite these cuts, the company emphasised its ongoing commitment to Ireland, highlighting its role as a critical hub for its global operations.
PayPal joins a growing list of tech companies in Ireland, including Indeed, TikTok, and Microsoft, that have announced layoffs.
Established in Ireland for over twenty years, the company remains dedicated to its Irish operations despite the workforce reductions.
