Aldi is to generate 500 new apprenticeship positions across the UK this year.

The discounter has opened applications for its apprenticeship scheme, with roles across stores, buying, logistics, and HGV drivers.

The firm offers competitive hourly rates, such as £8.44 for store apprentices in the first year.

It’ll rise to £11.83 in the third year and £10.96 for logistics apprentices.

HGV drivers can earn £14.13 per hour.

Successful applicants will have the opportunity to gain industry-recognized qualifications.

They will receive additional perks such as discounts, participation in a bike-to-work scheme, and free mortgage advice.

The apprenticeship program is part of the supermarket's nationwide expansion, which created 6,000 jobs across the UK last year.

Lisa Murphy, Aldi UK's Learning and Development Director, said: “We’re on the lookout for hardworking and driven individuals to bolster our Aldi team.

“By joining our apprenticeship scheme, individuals will become experts in their role and receive in-depth skills training at one of the fastest-growing retailers in the country.

“The apprentices of today are the leaders of tomorrow, so we’re always on the hunt for more amazing individuals from all backgrounds to join our team.”
