John Lewis has posted its job interview questions online to attract the best talent and simplify the hiring process for candidates.

According to the Financial Times, the retailer will publish the interview questions that are accessible for every role on a dedicated website.

Lorna Bullett, the talent acquisition lead at John Lewis, said: “We want the right people, from a variety of backgrounds, with the best talent to join our organisation.

“It makes absolute business sense to find ways of helping candidates to really demonstrate what they can do.”

Those interested can access a dedicated website to review the interview questions applicable to various roles across all levels of seniority and skill.

The firm also advises candidates to prepare for a thorough interview process, including “follow-up or probing questions,” in addition to those which are role-specific and technical.

He added: “The process will be no less rigorous.

"Interviewers can very quickly get a sense of whether their answers are authentic and based on real experience.”

This move by John Lewis comes when talent shortages affect eight out of 10  companies in the UK, as reported by employment agency Manpower.
