The impact you will makeAgios is searching for a dynamic Associate Director, Competitive Intelligence & Market Research, to join our Commercial Operations & Analytics team. This role leads the market research and competitive intelligence functions across our marketed and pipeline portfolio, spanning rare and genetically defined diseases. It builds the customer, market, and competitive understanding that informs brand and portfolio strategy – designing and executing primary and secondary research, and systematically tracking the competitive landscape across in‑line and pipeline dynamics. This is a highly visible, cross‑functional role that turns external signals into clear, actionable insight for the organization. The Associate Director partners broadly across the organization – marketing, medical affairs, market access, advanced analytics, etc. – to ensure strategy and execution are grounded in a deep understanding of customers and a sharp read of the competitive environment.
What You Will Do- Lead primary market research, qualitative and quantitative to build the foundational customer understanding for pre‑launch and in‑line brands.
- Integrate primary research with secondary data analytics into clear, actionable insights that inform brand and commercial strategy and proactively anticipate the organization’s next questions.
- Provide an objective assessment of the external environment and recommend strategies and tactics to strengthen positioning and respond to competitor dynamics.
- Lead competitive intelligence for the portfolio – systematically monitor competitor activity across in‑line and pipeline dynamics (clinical, regulatory, commercial, and scientific congress developments) and translate the implications into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Apply practical AI and scalable approaches to accelerate competitive monitoring, alerting, and synthesis, and deliver timely competitive read‑outs to cross‑functional teams and leadership.
- Partner with brand and commercial teams on strategy development and tactical execution across the product lifecycle, contributing customer and competitive insight to launch planning and readiness.
- Participate in key cross‑functional teams – early commercial, brand, and portfolio – to ensure strategic decisions reflect market intelligence and customer insight.
- Act as an internal consultant across marketing, sales, market access, medical, clinical, regulatory, finance, and advanced analytics.
- Direct third‑party research vendors effectively, on time and within budget.
- 8+ years of experience in market research and competitive intelligence in the biopharmaceutical industry, with hands‑on depth in primary market research and secondary data analytics; bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (e.g., MBA) preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise designing and executing primary market research (qualitative and quantitative) and integrating it with secondary data into actionable insight that shapes commercial strategy.
- Experience leading competitive intelligence across a portfolio, with the ability to synthesize and communicate implications succinctly to varied audiences; familiarity with practical AI applications to competitive intelligence preferred.
- Launch experience strongly preferred – pre‑launch, launch, and post‑launch – with an understanding of cross‑functional dependencies and processes.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including the ability to draw insight from complex claims and secondary datasets.
- Inquisitive, strategic mindset; able to challenge assumptions, go beyond the obvious answer, and turn ambiguous business questions into actionable plans.
- Strong cross‑functional collaboration and influencing skills; comfortable partnering across marketing, medical affairs, market access, clinical, and advanced analytics.
- Excellent communication skills; able to distill complex analyses into clear narratives and recommendations, with confidence in front of executive‑level audiences.
- Experience in rare or genetically defined diseases preferred; experience managing third‑party research vendors on time and within budget.

The impact you will makeAgios is searching for a dynamic Associate Director, Forecasting & Performance Analytics to join our growing Commercial Operations & Analytics team. This role leads forecasting and national performance analytics across our marketed and pipeline portfolio, with a particular emphasis on rare and genetically defined diseases. It builds the demand, revenue, and long‑range models that anchor planning and the executive and board narrative, and owns the national performance reporting that shows how launches and in‑line products are tracking.
This is a hands‑on role for someone who can build rigorous, defensible models and translate them into clear recommendations for commercial leadership. The Associate Director partners closely with Commercial, Finance, Supply, and Portfolio Management and supports business development assessments.
What You Will Do- Build, maintain, and evolve operational, unit‑based forecasts across the portfolio – demand, revenue, and patient‑based models – including scenario planning and risk and opportunity assessments for multiple launches and in‑line products
- Develop and manage long‑range planning (LRP) forecasts in partnership with Commercial, Finance, and Corporate Strategy, clearly documenting assumptions, risks, and opportunities
- Select and apply the most appropriate forecasting approach for each question – epidemiology‑based, demand‑based, or analog‑based – and continuously strengthen forecasting best practices, tools, and processes
- Own national‑level commercial performance reporting and analytics, building and maintaining the KPI frameworks, dashboards, and scorecards that track launch and in‑line performance for brand, commercial, and executive audiences
- Surface emerging performance trends, likely drivers, and areas of opportunity by integrating secondary data, field intelligence, competitive signals, and market research
- Deliver ad hoc forecasting and analytics to support board meetings, earnings calls, and investor discussions
- Support business development and corporate strategy with market sizing, valuation inputs, and commercial forecasts for pipeline and partnering opportunities
- Guide the secondary analytics and primary research needed to validate forecast assumptions, model architecture, and patient populations
- Act as an internal consultant across Commercial, Finance, Market Access, Clinical, Supply, and Regulatory to support cross‑functional decision‑making
- Direct third‑party forecasting resources to extend capacity while maintaining quality and timelines
- 8+ years of experience in forecasting, commercial analytics, or performance reporting in the biopharmaceutical industry; bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (e.g., MBA) preferred
- Strong forecasting and financial modeling skills, including dynamic Excel models; able to build, present, defend, and maintain operational and long‑range forecasts with a high degree of precision
- Strong knowledge of biopharmaceutical secondary data sources (e.g., specialty pharmacy, claims and longitudinal patient, sales, and payer data) and how to apply them to forecasting and performance analytics
- Experience designing and interpreting KPI frameworks, dashboards, and launch and in‑line performance reporting
- Experience in rare or genetically defined diseases, including in‑line and pipeline products, strongly preferred
- Experience supporting business development or licensing assessments with forecasting and market sizing a plus
- Excellent communication skills; able to distill complex models into clear narratives and recommendations for senior stakeholders
- Well organized, analytical, and a strong strategic thinker; able to challenge assumptions and go beyond the obvious answer
- Experience managing third‑party vendors or offshore analytical resources to deliver on time and within budget
