ALBERT HOTEL is hiring for a VALET CAPTAIN

An urban oasis, tucked away off of Main Street in the heart of Fredericksburg, TX, Albert Hotel offers a peaceful yet sophisticated luxury experience in Texas's famed Hill Country. Opened in January 2025, the property features 105 thoughtfully appointed guest rooms and suites, along with uniquely designed bunk rooms and a private house with custom furnishings, locally-curated amenities, and thoughtful touches.

With the guest experience in mind, Albert's elevated amenities include a sunken limestone pool featuring an outdoor bar and cabanas, state-of-the-art fitness center, and a 2,000-square-foot full-service spa. Additionally, the property is home to four on-site culinary outlets, including The Wellhouse and Junebug’s BBQ.

Albert boasts 3,600-square-foot of semi-open air event space, a 1,200-square-foot mezzanine deck, and an expansive event lawn, making it a prime destination for weddings, private events, and intimate gatherings.

What you'll do:

  • Adhere to all standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, training materials, memos, and verbal instruction.
  • Overall responsibility for department scheduling based on hotel, events, and outlet volume.
  • Responsible for overall department training and guest satisfaction KPIs including implementing bell/valet steps of service for arrival and departure
  • Coordinate with front office, events/sales, food and beverage and spa to ensure staffing levels and service exceed expectations
  • Assist with hiring, training, and retaining bell/valet team members
  • Ensure entire bell/valet team are effective trained and have implemented Flash Valet, E-tip, Actable/Alice, and all other necessary applications
  • Greet all guests in close proximity and make each feel important by providing a genuine welcome and opening entrance doors
  • Drive safely and follow all traffic regulations while parking and returning guests' vehicles
  • Ensure that the front lobby, front interior, and exterior entrances are kept clean
  • Maintain knowledge of the hotel property, staff, hours of operation, and services; sell the amenities of the hotel
  • Immediately inform hotel management of any accidents or moving violations
  • Pick up and deliver guest laundry for valet service
  • Read maps and provide clear directions
  • Carry baggage weighing up to fifty pounds to the guest’s room; respond to requests for bell service as soon as possible
  • Arrange and store luggage carts; use extreme caution to protect guest’s property when loading and unloading luggage carts
  • Continually watch for people in halls, around corners, and in elevators, and be aware of any possible safety hazards
  • Deliver packages, faxes, and messages to guests
  • Arrange for reasonable accommodations for person(s) with disabilities
Who you are:
  • You are over 21 years of age.
  • You possess a valid driver’s license and successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
  • You can speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) of the workplace.
  • You can navigate, operate, and troubleshoot computer systems and software applications.
  • You can develop and maintain professional relationships and speak effectively before guests and groups of co-workers.
  • You have effective time management and organizational skills; can prioritize and organize work assignments and follow through as necessary to receive expected results.
  • You have a strong work ethic and the ability to work autonomously.

What you'll do:

  • Develop departmental objectives, budgets, policies, procedures, and strategies that support the development and long-term planning of the spa
  • Direct and coordinate all facets of spa operations to meet the needs of the hotel, including staffing, forecasting, and oversight
  • Actively lead, coach, develop, and encourage high performance from all team members during daily operations
  • Oversee the recruitment and training of new team members; responsible for planning, documenting, implementing, and monitoring department training programs
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures for all spa-related functions
  • Develop a unique, attractive spa service menu, embracing classic service offerings, as well as industry trends and innovative experiences
  • Ensure spa treatment options are mindful of quality and profitability, with considerations for product cost, product availability, and shelf life
  • Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to strategically and proactively develop programs, marketing initiatives, and promotions to increase revenue-generating opportunities, enhance the guest experience, and create repeat clientele
  • Establish beneficial partnerships with all product, equipment, and supply vendors that include competitive pricing, technical support, training programs, and co-op promotions
  • Oversee ordering of equipment and supplies, and maintain inventory control for all spa areas, including storage and cost-effective usage of all department-related materials and assets to ensure a smooth operation
  • Resolve all guest feedback promptly and diplomatically, ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction
  • Utilize a continuous improvement approach to identify development opportunities, leverage creativity, and flexibility in determining solutions, plans, and execution
  • Promote business growth through increasing revenue and daily operational efficiency while maintaining a healthy spa morale
  • Demonstrate a working understanding of labor cost control through effective scheduling and proactive management
  • Issue recommendations regarding the annual operating budget, capital investment budget, operating planning, and further periodic evaluations of financial performance, including reports on sales and operations with supporting statistical data
  • Monitor and maintain the cleanliness of all spa facilities, including coordinating special requirements with housekeeping, laundry, and engineering
  • Maintain an increased awareness of safety issues throughout the property and keep abreast of safety and emergency procedures and OSHA requirements
  • Ensure that all equipment is maintained in good, safe working condition; arrange for equipment purchases and repairs as needed
  • Ensure the spa complies with all state sanitation and licensing regulations
  • Ensure staff have a complete understanding of their job requirements and sufficient training before holding them accountable for results
  • Ensure open lines of communication with all departments and management via email, logbooks, meetings, etc. to ensure all needs of the outlet are met
  • Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the efficient operation of the hotel

Who you are:

  • You possess knowledge of current wellness trends, including personal knowledge of various therapies, treatments, ingredients, and innovations.
  • You believe in hospitality, deeply and passionately.
  • You have a proven track record of creating profitable, operational, and innovative spa solutions.
  • You have a proven track record of effectively applying spa staffing models, creating and implementing spa service menus, retail management, marketing strategies, and financial management.
  • You know how important relationships are and you find joy in growing and maintaining new ones.
  • You use your time wisely and are an expert in prioritizing and multitasking.
  • You enjoy mentoring and developing a team.
  • You're thorough, have excellent communication, and pay close attention to detail.
  • You're patient and able to remain calm in stressful situations.
  • You have a strong work ethic and can work both autonomously and with a team.
  • You have 3+ years of experience as a Spa Manager in a high-volume, elevated spa environment (within the hospitality industry preferred).
