Position: Cloud Network/Systems Security Engineer
Location: San Antonio, TX - JBSA-Lackland
Security Clearance Required: Top Secret/SCI with potential for higher read-ins
Position Type/Standard Work Hours: Full-time/40 hours per week
Summary / ObjectiveUpon contract award, BTAS will be seeking a Cloud Network/Systems Security Engineer who will support the 16th Air Force (AF) Communications Directorate (A6), Cyber Operations Division (A6O) and requires technical, and analytical support in areas relating Cyber Security Service Provider (CSSP) services for Air Force and Combatant Command (CCMD) missions. The A6O is tasked with providing all Air Force organizations CSSP coverage for the Air Force Information Network (AFIN).
This position is a management/advisory type of role with technical expertise but less on the hands-on capabilities. Current work focus is on Standard Operating Procedure review for a variety of cybersecurity tasks with a lot of support directly to the government/military customer. In the next 6 - 12 months, the hands-on piece will ramp up, but it will be at a higher level compared to administration type of duties.
Primary Responsibilities- Provide research, recommendations and execute implementation of new projects in a timely manner as directed.
- Provide technical (cloud architecture) support to CSSP Onboarding process. Ensure day-to-day operations, monitoring, and administration duties for routing, firewall, security, and services are operating efficiently and effectively while also providing status within an appropriate timeline (subject to change).
- Provide technical recommendations supporting the CSSP Program for the selection, installation and maintenance of all hardware, system software and network related components traversing over many IT platforms and operating systems.
- Provides support and troubleshooting not limited to the following devices: Network Security Groups, Route Tables, VNet Peering, Virtual Network Gateways, Express Route, Azure Load Balancers (Public, Internal, Application Gateway), and Network Virtual Appliance integration.
- Experience with enterprise-class networking infrastructure in highly available and scalable environments.
- Ability and proven experience in the design, planning, support, and configuration of all networking gear (switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, VPN concentrators).
- Knowledge, experience and understanding of real-time and trend monitoring for network infrastructure.
- Knowledge, experience and understanding of VPN configurations and other WAN technology deployments.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, demanding, and multi-tasking environment.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge and understanding of routing protocols.
- Knowledge and understanding of Palo Alto & Virtual Machine Scale Sets, Cisco ASA, and Firepower firewalls.
- Knowledge and understanding of load balancers.
- Experience with Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and other cloud platforms.
- Active DoD Top Secret/SCI security clearance, with potential for higher read-ins.
- Bachelor’s Degree or Higher in Computer Science or related field.
- 4+ years of experience in the Cloud network engineering field.
- DoD Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF) certification.
- IAT level II certification.
- CSSP Infrastructure Support certification.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide space acquisitions, engineering, operations, and technical advice and assistance for projects and programs at any acquisition life cycle stage

- Identify improvement areas in acquisition processes
- Provide recommendations and execute tasks to reduce risk
- Assist in building and maintaining a government risk program including risk identification, process definition, and detailed technical risk mitigation plans

- Perform earned value management and schedule analysis for program office defense contracts

- Provide subject matter expertise for Integrated Baseline Reviews/Business Financial Reviews to assess defense contractor cost and schedule performance issues using government-accepted best practices and guidelines
- Maintain awareness of current program schedule
- Monitor acquisition implementation
- Report requirement shortfalls
- Provide program assessment based on identified risks
- Combine and correlate program execution data with program baselines to maintain and update acquisition reports
- Experience with program management for ACAT-like weapon systems, in particular managing the planning, programming, budgeting and execution of funds
- Highly knowledgeable in the fields of Space Force financial management
- Prior program management or finance experience
- Experience with building acquisition strategies and programmatic documentation

POSITION: Senior Network Systems Engineer
LOCATION: Flexible / El Segundo, CA / Colorado Springs, CO
REQUIRED SECURITY CLEARANCE:Active TS with SCI eligibility
POSITION TYPE/STANDARD WORK HOURS:Full time, 40 hours
THE OPPORTUNITY:
Upon award, BTAS will be filling potential openings for the Space Systems Command (SSC). SSC plays a critical role in advancing the United States's space capabilities, delivering cutting-edge solutions to protect and enhance national security. SSC/SZBC specializes in highly classified Space Domain Awareness (SDA) systems, Defensive and Offensive Space Control (DSC/OSC) capabilities, and space test range assets to support the Department of Defense’s (DoD) current and future operational needs.
As a leader in space technology, SSC/SZ-BC is responsible for the development, integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment of mission-critical systems spanning the entire acquisition life cycle. These efforts ensure the United States Space Force (USSF) and its mission partners maintain a strategic advantage in space operations. This position will support multiple SSC/SZ-BC programs, as well as other initiatives across the Space Force, Air Force, and allied organizations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide space acquisitions, engineering, operations, and technical advice for all project stages in the acquisition life cycle, including advanced technology and integration activities.
- Advise on cost, schedule, and performance.
- Revise or draft Joint Capabilities Integrated Development System (JCIDS) and other acquisition documentation, supporting presentations to stakeholders.
- Provide draft SME-level technical or programmatic status reports as requested.
- Identify and recommend improvements in acquisition processes and risk management.
- Support the government program manager with financial management including earned value management and schedule analysis for defense contracts. Provide Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) support and subject matter expertise for Integrated Baseline Reviews/Business Financial Reviews.
- Maintain current program schedule awareness, monitor acquisitions, report shortfalls, and assess programs based on risks.
- Assist in executing source selections as per FAR 9.505-4, including coordinating meetings, developing documentation, and drafting proposal evaluations.
- Provide modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) support; develop Space Protection and Space Control mission area architectures.
- Advise and assist on test operations, support test document preparation, event planning, and system-level test integration.
- Provide analytical and operational engineering support for current and future operations, focusing on mission planning and anomaly resolution.
- Support data and signal collection, processing, storage, archiving, and analysis to aid testing, operations, and future concept developments. Assist with post-mission analysis and reporting.
- Degree requirement:
- BA/BS with 16 or more years’ experience; or
- MA/MS with 13 or more years’ experience; or
- Ph.D./JD with 10 or more years’ experience.
- Requires 10 years’ experience in this type of position or program.
- Must be expert in wide area network architecture planning, design, and applicable open systems interconnections layers.
- Must be highly knowledgeable in Information Technology Service Management.
- Must be highly knowledgeable in architecture and system requirements development.
- Requires experience performing government space systems program support efforts to develop, update, and coordinate program documentation.
- Requires experience with engaging various DoD organizations to coordinate architecture alignment efforts and mission partner requirements collection.
This position does not supervise the work of others.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able tooperate a computer and other standard office equipment. Must be able to remain in a stationary position, 80%.
TRAVEL:
Little if any travel is required.

COMPENSATION / SALARY RANGE:
BTASadheres to federal, state, and local regulations. This is a Full-Time, Salary, Exempt position. The following salary range is what we reasonably expect to pay but is contingent and subject to a variety of factors, including but not limited to years of experience, education, certification(s), training, specialized skills, responsibilities, etc.
SALARY RANGE:$147,000–$250,000
