Key Responsibilities 



* Supervises the day-to-day activities of a team of entry level individual contributors. Provides guidance, coaching, and support to ensure successful completion of tasks. Participates in HR activities such as hiring, terminations, performance management, goal setting, team member development, scheduling, etc. Enforces systems, policies, and procedures. 

* Directs the maintenance and repair of processing equipment, mobile equipment buildings and grounds in a safe and efficient manner. 

* Develops, schedules, and controls a preventive maintenance program to maintain production machinery and equipment in proper working condition. 

* Plans a continual work schedule to maintain all company property in a safe and healthy condition to achieve the best working conditions possible for all team members. 

* Inspects jobs in process and at completion to ensure that standards of workmanship and safety are maintained. 

* Ensures proper maintenance of facility machinery and building. 

* Coordinates with Sanitation and Operations to ensure that the equipment is ready for production. 

* Plans the work shift to allow time for activity in the Safety Accountability Process and the Maintenance Accountability Program. 

* Recommends, plans, and implements equipment needs to improve production efficiency and/or achieve cost reduction.  


Minimum Qualifications (Educations & Experience) 



* High school diploma, GED or equivalent 

* 4+ years of relevant experience or the knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed in the role 

* 1+ year of relevant leadership experience or the knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed in the role

* Ensure proper maintenance of facility machinery and building. Conducts safety audits, equipment audits, walk-arounds, etc. 

* Tracks progress of open projects and ensures they remain on track for meeting all goals. Oversees capital projects. 

* Writes CERs (claim, evidence, reasoning) as needed to support capital projects and/or partnership with external resources for maintenance and capital solutions. 

* Directs the maintenance and repair of processing equipment, mobile equipment buildings, and grounds in a safe and efficient manner, including providing direction for relevant systems (i.e., SAP CMMS, BOSS, etc.). 

* Develops, schedules, and controls a preventive maintenance program to maintain production machinery and equipment in proper working condition. 

* Recommend plans, and implements equipment needs to improve production efficiency and/or achieve cost reduction. Prepares key performance indicators and attends or presents at relevant meetings.

Key Responsibilities
+ Develops and fosters a positive relationship with growers to motivate the grower to attain maximum results. Maintains regular availability for and contact with growers.
+ Responsible for the overall health and performance of contract turkeys, including monitoring the health, performance, feed, flock records, etc. Implements sanitation and disease prevention programs, provides guidance on appropriate medication administration, performs routine necropsy to monitor disease status of flock, and transports turkeys to diagnostic laboratory for disease monitoring and testing as needed. Implements necessary pest and rodent management programs.
+ Verifies and records data, such as weekly mortalities and feed deliveries. Completes and checks final flock file which includes feed conversion rates, medications costs, and grower accounts receivable charges.
+ Identifies and uses discretion to choose what, how, and when to provide feedback on or report on during inspection of contract facilities. Ensures thorough documentation. Works closely with farmers to communicate findings and recommendations for improvements.
+ Provides coaching and training on best management practices, and the importance of maintaining high standards. Sets clear expectations and influences positive behaviors such as completing proper repairs and maintenance, investing resources into potential solutions that may go beyond standard duties, etc. Provides conflict resolution and escalation for severe issues as appropriate.
+ Implements within the facilities initiatives aimed at improving overall quality and efficiency, providing feedback and suggestions based on inspection results.
+ Interprets observations, identifies opportunities, and advises management on potential solutions and areas for improvement in policy or procedures.

+ Responsible for the overall health and performance of contract turkeys, including monitoring the health, performance, feed, flock records, etc. Implements sanitation and disease prevention programs, provides guidance on appropriate medication administration, performs routine necropsy to monitor disease status of flock, and transports turkeys to diagnostic laboratory for disease monitoring and testing as needed. Implements necessary pest and rodent management programs.
+ Verifies and records data, such as weekly mortalities and feed deliveries. Completes and checks final flock file which includes feed conversion rates, medications costs, and grower accounts receivable charges.
+ Identifies and uses discretion to choose what, how, and when to provide feedback on or report on during inspection of contract facilities. Ensures thorough documentation. Works closely with farmers to communicate findings and recommendations for improvements.
+ Provides coaching and training on best management practices, and the importance of maintaining high standards. Sets clear expectations and influences positive behaviors such as completing proper repairs and maintenance, investing resources into potential solutions that may go beyond standard duties, etc. Provides conflict resolution and escalation for severe issues as appropriate.
+ Implements within the facilities initiatives aimed at improving overall quality and efficiency, providing feedback and suggestions based on inspection results.
+ Interprets observations, identifies opportunities, and advises management on potential solutions and areas for improvement in policy or procedures.

-2 years' experience in related field (e.g., USDA inspector, quality assurance technician, process control monitor, inspector helper, veterinary technician)
-Associates degree in poultry/animal science, biology or chemistry
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands, arms, and fingers to manually handle carcasses and parts. Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Working Conditions
-Work is performed in a food processing plant with a high noise level, storage coolers/facilities.
-Position requires working around processing plant equipment.
-Must be physically capable of working extended hours, overtime, holidays, and weekends if needed and in varying elements that could include damp, cold, wet, hot or warm environment, standing for long periods of time.
-This position requires the individual to wear and work in personal protective equipment while in the manufacturing environment.
-The noise level of the office environment is usually moderate; the noise level in the manufacturing environment may exceed 85 DBA and require hearing protection.
