As a licensed dentist, a general dentist provides general dentistry services, including the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, injuries, and malformations of teeth, gums and related oral structures.

Job Purpose

The General Counsel is an executive position and, as such, leads the Company's in‑house Legal Department. The General Counsel supports various internal business units and manages other Legal Department and Real Estate Department employees. The General Counsel must possess a broad corporate skill set encompassing a range of responsibilities, including labor and employment law, healthcare law, commercial contracts and transactions (e.g., nondisclosure and vendor agreements), real estate law, regulatory compliance, and risk management.

• Primarily responsible for providing continuing legal advice, guidance and possible implications on all legal matters, as well as engaging and managing outside counsel.
• Provide legal support and advice in connection with labor and employment matters, including collective bargaining agreements, employment agreements, corporate employment policies, enforcement of non‑compete agreements, confidentiality and trade secret provisions, wage and hour requirements and job classification issues, and wage garnishment claims.
• Fluent in business transaction law, including corporate entity formation, dissolution, restructuring and annual renewals for both domestic and foreign entities. Knowledge of equity purchase and buyout transactions of corporate entities.
• Participation in the definition and development of corporate policies, procedures and programs.
• Responsible for strategic management of employment‑related claims, including investigation of labor‑related charges, drafting of position statements, and negotiating the resolution of disputed claims.
• Partner closely with the Human Resources Department and organization and business leaders, providing advice and counsel in connection with potential disciplinary actions, terminations, and other employment actions.
• Research and advise on regulatory matters and healthcare laws, such as Stark, Anti‑Kickback, HIPAA, etc.
• Draft, review and provide advice on real estate matters, leases and general commercial contracts.
• Review, draft and negotiate substantial commercial contracts, and negotiate complex commercial agreements.
• Stay abreast of relevant laws and regulations impacting the dental care industry.
• Represent the Company in various legal matters, including but not limited to small claims, breach of contract claims (lawsuits and interoffice providers), settlement negotiations, arbitration, mediation, and various other litigation as arises.
• Provide expert and strategic legal guidance to the executive staff on alI matters that affect the Company.
• Manage the Legal Department and Real Estate Department staff, vendors, and outside counsel.
• Offer counsel on a variety of legal issues as it pertains to the Company.
• Anticipate issues and estimate risks strategically.
• Additional projects and/or responsibilities as assigned.

• A minimum of ten (10) years experience as an attorney, ideally including both in‑house and large law firm experience.
• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law or authorized in‑house counsel in the State of Florida.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Management experience must include managing and overseeing the work of other attorneys and paralegals.
• Experience in the healthcare industry is also required for this position.

Coast Dental is seeking a General Counsel to lead its in-house Legal Department in Tampa, Florida. This executive position involves providing legal advice across various internal business units and managing employment-related claims.

The ideal candidate will have at least ten years of legal experience, a Juris Doctorate, and expertise in labor and employment, healthcare law, and managing legal teams. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Job Purpose

This position is responsible for building and maintaining a successful practice through communication with the team and managing goals and expectations. The Office Manager generates accountability, authority and responsibility with their team and provides support, communication, and guidance to increase the team’s performance. This role may float between offices to provide coverage and may manage an office that is not fully staffed.

• Hire, train and manage performance of office team members.
• Reside as the expert on basic job knowledge such as filing insurance claims, cash management, office software, insurance verification and insurance linkage.
• Explain treatment plans and payment options to patients.
• Review and train on Accounts Receivables (collection percentage).
• Ensure daily deposits are completed on time with accuracy and maintain control of petty cash for the office.
• Ensure office is secure at all times as assigned key holder.
• Travel between offices as required to provide coverage when other office managers are unavailable or provide coverage in offices without a permanent provider.
• Train on and review patient financing/credit (volume number and accuracy) with team.
• Train team and ensure effective customer service skills via the telephone and in person.

• Effective communication ensuring cooperation between the front office and back office (including reading and responding to email, filtering down newsletters, policy updates, correspondence, training, meeting and webinar information and appropriate data).
• Respond to both general dentistry and specialty patients and patient complaints in a timely and professional manner.
• Train staff or arrange training, as needed.
• Assure timeliness and accuracy of paperwork.
• Review and approve payroll (accuracy, control overtime) for office.
• Oversight of supplies and inventory for the office and assure cost effectiveness.
• Retention of staff and patients (turnover number).
• Assure safety – workers compensation (reported timely and accurate and investigation post‑accident is completed), ensure staff completes annual OSHA Blood borne pathogen training online in the company’s Learning Portal, assure MSDS sheets for each location are accurate and on site, track, exchange and review office radiation badges.
• Complete Monthly Check List (completed and assurance all areas are up to date.)
• Provide effective communication and act as liaison between corporate and office staff (changes, procedures, postings, etc.)
