The Senior Investment Associate is responsible for the origination, analysis, execution and management of investment grade debt private placements for L&G Asset Management clients. This role will be primarily focused on a wide range of infrastructure issuers but will also help develop new investment opportunities within the structured finance and corporate sectors. US Private Credit is part of a global team that is comprised of more than 50 investment professionals managing a growing global portfolio of more than $30 billion. The US team was founded in 2017 and is focused on covering transactions from issuers based in North America and Australia with a focus on infrastructure debt investments, corporate private placements, structured finance, and commercial mortgage loans. L&G Asset Management’s clients and affiliates have been increasing their demand for private investments and have made substantial commitments to grow the US private credit portfolio.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with colleagues in Chicago and London to originate, underwrite, execute, and manage infrastructure debt investment opportunities for our clients
  • Filter potential investments determining suitability from the perspective of credit, value, duration, and overall portfolio fit
  • Conduct fundamental investment due diligence including credit and legal analysis, prepare investment committee materials, and obtain required approvals
  • Collaborate with internal partners, such as PMs, Ratings and Legal, to ensure investment opportunities are suitable for our clients and meet their respective investment guidelines
  • Manage existing investments by reviewing regular financial and compliance reports, updating risk views in real time, and seeking waivers and approvals according to the relevant procedures
  • Administer key internal and external counterparty and borrower relationships
  • Support the marketing process to raise capital from new clients and to develop investment solutions for borrowers and other market participants
  • Assist the formulation of the broader investment strategy by identifying transactions and sub-sectors that could be appropriate investment targets for our clients
Qualifications
  • The candidate is likely to have 5-7 years’ experience in buy-side debt private placements with experience across multiple sectors in infrastructure debt. Successful candidates may also have experience in a bank credit program or with an infrastructure sponsor
  • The role requires reviewing large numbers of transactions to identify suitable investments that align with our focus on structure, credit, and relative value and to structure bilateral transactions in house as required
  • The candidate will need to be organized, focused, and self-motivated with strong communication and analytical skills
  • Demonstrable expertise in investment diligence, with knowledge in identifying credit risks, rating agency methodologies, reviewing and negotiating legal documentation, and analyzing financial models
Additional Information

$150,000 to $170,000

The starting salary offer will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to the applicant’s education, job-related experience, skills, and abilities, geographic location, and market factors. Qualifications
  • Proven track record of asset raising, ideally with an institutional investment manager offering fixed income and index strategies.
  • Proven relationship‑building skills, with a well‑established network of relationships among leading institutional investors, including a history of cultivating and maintaining long‑term partnerships that have contributed to business growth.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in the financial services industry, with at least 5 years of direct experience in sales, distribution or client service.

Job Description

The LGIMA Investment Analytics team is responsible for providing market-leading analytics for the firm’s suite of investment solutions. This mandate encompasses areas such as performance, attribution, risk analytics and benchmark construction for the benefit of our clients and internal portfolio management teams, in addition to building tools to support analysis. The team partners with Client Solutions, Portfolio Management, Marketing, Operations, Data Management and IT to deliver on our goals. This role will be responsible for the delivery of performance and portfolio analytics that serves our internal and external clients across LGIMA’s credit, index, LDI and multi-asset investment strategies. As the individual grows into the role, more emphasis will be placed on building processes and tools to enhance scalability, allowing for increased contribution in a project-based and proactive analysis capacity.

Responsibilities
  • Own the production process for performance, attribution and portfolio analytics reporting.
  • Fulfill portfolio analytics and data requests from internal teams, including Client Solutions, Marketing and Portfolio Management.

Job Description

The Senior Investment Associate is primarily responsible for the origination, analysis, execution and management of corporate debt investments for L&G’s clients, including industrials, utilities, REITs, healthcare, sports leagues, insurance companies and various other sectors. The role will also include supporting other Private Credit verticals and wider team initiatives, such as new client marketing & origination, new sector/product research, and improving operational processes and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Originate and filter new potential corporate debt investments according to suitability for LGIMA’s clients. Origination to include liaising with borrowers, intermediaries, and sponsors, as well as attending conferences and other industry events, to build and maintain market connections.
  • Act as Deal Captain on transactions that demonstrate attractive risk‑adjusted returns and meet client requirements, taking ownership of due diligence, credit ratings, documentation review and negotiation, all approval processes, and execution/closing.
  • Manage existing investments by reviewing borrower reporting, rating agency reports, processing and escalating waiver requests, and producing quarterly reviews.
  • Work closely with colleagues in Chicago and London, collaborating cross‑border with legal, credit, operations and business management teams.
  • Manage key internal and external stakeholder and borrower relationships, including discussing pipeline and portfolio updates with clients.

Qualifications
  • The candidate is likely to have experience in investment‑grade private credit, private placements, investment banking, commercial banking, leveraged lending, direct lending, high yield, or other relevant sectors, with a deep understanding of identifying and mitigating credit risks.
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting, and/or Economics, required.
  • 5+ years of credit experience required.
  • Completion of a rotational training program in commercial banking, investment banking, or a rating agency is preferred.
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) credential or pursuing CFA preferred.

  • Good knowledge of risk and control frameworks and resilience risks relating to business operations, technology platforms, digital channels, third parties and cloud based services.
