• Encourage children to interact and resolve occasional conflict
• Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers, colors, crafts, etc.)
• Organize nap and lunch/snack hours and supervise children to ensure they are always safe
• Track children’s progress
• Communicate with parents regularly
• Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Development and state certification
• A Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and five years' experience in a licensed early childhood center
• Proof of current and active enrollment in an accredited Associate’s or Bachelor's degree program in Early Childhood Education or a related field
• Ability to lift objects of up to 30 lbs
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear and taste or smell
• Ability to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch

The Assistant Director is responsible for the safe, effective operation of the school with the School Director, to achieve Little Me Daycare’s vision. The Assistant Director assists in the promotion of the social, physical, and intellectual growth of the children.

Accountable! Ensure the school is operating in accordance with company and state licensing standards.

Responsible! Foster an educational, caring, safe environment for the children and parents.

Creative! Spark imagination, build self-esteem, and help children discover new things each day.

Positive! Promote the positive image of the company and play a major role in making the company a provider of choice for the communities we serve.

Team-oriented! Help recruit, select, and retain quality staff.

Must be at least 21 years of age

Must have previous leadership experience and at least 1 year of experience working in a licensed childcare facility.

Must meet state requirements for education

Master’s Degree preferred, minimum BA.BS Degree in Early Childhood Education

New York State Teaching Certification, (minimum Birth through 2)

Knowledgeable of Article 47 and other NYC Department of Health licensing/credentialing issues
