Summary:
This position's primary focus is to support environmental compliance requirements and various stakeholder requests associated with Delaware Basin Sour Gas Operations
Responsibilities:
+ Interprets and/or develops Company environmental policies and guidelines and develops methods and procedures for implementing and assuring conformance; advises appropriate managers and supervisors of the Company's goals and requirements; provides guidance and technical assistance in organizing and establishing programs and procedures to implement and administer such requirements, including budget inputs. + Keeps abreast of environmental legislation, regulatory agency actions, and international standards as well as related technological and administrative developments; develops/assists with legislative and regulatory impact assessment to ensure an appropriate response by the Company to governmental proposals; submits required reports and obtains various permits as required.
+ Develops environmental information, manuals, training material and programs; informs employees of related policies and procedures; conducts appropriate training sessions.
+ Represents the Company with appropriate trade associations, industry work groups and regulatory agencies. Serve as technical resource to Government Affairs in contact with elected officials. Maintains a working knowledge of issues and key Industry contacts, directs activities and budgets, and disseminates pertinent information.
+ Maintains sufficient professional expertise and proficiency in discipline to achieve Company expectations and perform technical assignments.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ High School Diploma or GED required with 5 years of relevant environmental experience in a process industry (e.g. refining, midstream, petrochemical or other heavy industrial); or Bachelor's degree in a HES related field with no relevant experience; or Bachelor's degree in Engineering with no relevant experience
+ Conceptual knowledge of environmental compliance and regulatory framework
+ Valid driver's license required
Preferred:
+ Ability to monitor compliance with environmental regulations (i.e. RCRA, EPCRA, OPA, CERCLA and New Mexico Environmental Regulations)

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Right of Way (ROW) Manager is responsible for leading a team of ROW professionals and land service contractors in securing, maintaining, and managing land rights required for the construction, operation, and maintenance of pipeline and related energy infrastructure assets. This role provides strategic oversight of ROW acquisition, landowner relations, encroachment management, agreement compliance, and real estate activities across a region or operational area. The ROW Manager partners with project teams, leadership, legal counsel, government agencies, tribal entities, and landowners to support capital project execution, operational reliability, and regulatory compliance. Additionally, the role oversees resource planning, contractor management, reporting, and the successful execution of complex land-related initiatives and special projects that support the company's long-term business objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Leads multiple team members and land service contractors responsible for obtaining and maintaining land rights necessary for construction, operations, and maintenance of assets at the Region or Operational Area level.
+ Manages the development of processes, and oversight of ROW activities including ROW acquisition activities supporting numerous capital projects throughout the year, landowner communications and notifications including negotiating damage settlements, ROW maintenance and integrity support, encroachment management including Third-Party Encumbrance requests, real estate acquisition process for land under 20 acres, and ROW agreement management and compliance.
+ Procures personnel resource needs through collaboration with department leadership and project leaders in consideration of short-and-long term departmental objectives.
+ Administers the acquisition of pipeline rights-of-way, surface leases, permits, easements, and other documents involving industrial and commercial businesses, Federal, State and Local agencies. Tribal landowners, and private landowners, where required; oversees search of public records for ownership information; prepares and obtains execution of such instruments.
+ Interprets various agreements and easements and communicates restriction or right/privileges to the landowner or field personnel. Interfaces with broader ROW department, field personnel, Law and Management on various issues regarding interpretation of executed agreements. Provides guidance to team to support dealing and resolving landowner complaints.
+ Monitors obligations related to area ROW agreements to ensure compliance; executes reporting to stakeholders on status of ROW acquisition and maintenance projects.
+ Responsible for other special projects assigned by department leadership that requires significant resources or expertise (example: MD&A or BD proposals).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
+ High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
+ Five (5) years experience in ROW, pipeline engineering or project management required.
+ Three (3) years leadership experience preferred.
+ Land or ROW Management Certification preferred.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Rail Scheduler is primarily responsible for coordinating the movement of rail cars in and out of MPC refineries/terminals for the purpose of loading/unloading products or feedstocks. This position is the interface between the refineries/terminals to third party railroads and MPC stakeholders in Refining, Marketing and Rail Operations to ensure rail cars are scheduled as needed by the refineries/terminals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitors and manages rail movements and volumes through use of proprietary railroad and third-party transportation systems to create daily train orders (inside-the gate) or manage inventory levels at serving yard locations (gate-to-gate). Responds to unexpected events making contingency arrangements to minimize disruption of product supply. Ensures relevant data is captured accurately and recorded daily.• Schedules proper railcars for loading, unloading, sampling, etc. based on railcar type, contents, and ownership to meet business plans.• Coordinates railcar inspections and handles billing of railcars from MPC refinery/terminal/transload locations (inside-the-gate) or third-party locations (gate-to-gate). Selects correct Consignee, route, and hazmat information to be compliant with Federal Railroad Administration policies and reduce delays in transit. Complete and maintain DOT (Department of Transportation) Hazardous Shipment Certification.• Works with internal business partners to maintain supply of rolling stock needed to support MPC's commercial and refining operations. Communicates and verifies planned rail movements as well as status with MPC's refining and commercial teams. Provides timely and accurate railcar movement information to commercial schedulers.• Investigates rail-related cost discrepancies and assists with rail-related invoice reconciliations.• Provides rail freight rate estimates and railroad tariff information to internal business partners.• Hosts weekly rail meetings/Teams calls including stakeholders across the organization. Forecasts rail plan and issues to refinery for scheduling operators at rail and truck racks. Provides necessary rail shipment reporting and metrics while ensuring system data integrity.

Overview:

Depending on experience level and interest, construction management entry level hires at Marathon Petroleum Company LP (MPC) are involved in diverse and challenging projects. Interns/co-ops participate as integral team members, making recommendations on various project construction management activities. Projects and tasks will vary dependent on the business needs. Responsibilities:

Construction Management/Project Controls Specialist

This job entails applying the principles learned in Construction Management/Project Controls classes to various projects within the facilities. The construction management professional works with contractors and other construction specialists in the specialized industrial construction of Projects. The project values range from tens of thousands to billions of dollars. Typical tasks include: planning and scheduling of materials, labor, and equipment for construction, tracking and analyzing costs and comparing to control budgets, ensuring compliance with document control procedures and processes, preparing documents that provide an audit trail of major project decisions and risk mitigation efforts, assisting with bid preparation, award, and contract administration, monitoring and reporting of contractor productivity, progress, and performance, preparing schedule updates and critical path analysis.

During your time at MPC, you will develop and utilize project management skills ranging from scope, budget, and schedule development through construction and startup. MPC will provide training and educational opportunities to help you develop your knowledge. Additionally, MPC is committed to developing interns/co-ops into professional project managers who have the ability to successfully manage projects of all sizes.

Qualifications:

  • Desired majors are as follows: Construction Management, Construction Science, Construction Engineering, Construction Technology, or other related disciplines

Reliability Engineers will also be continuously challenged to find new technology in design, materials and repair methods to achieve refinery goals of longer running times at lower costs.
