**What will your typical day look like?**
+ Lead commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and optimization of new, existing, and retrofitted industrial combustion systems across the United States and occasionally internationally
+ Perform advanced diagnostics and root cause analysis on complex mechanical, electrical, and controls-related system issues
+ Review, adjust, and support PID loop programming in single- and multi-loop control systems
+ Utilize, interpret, and analyze data from electronic diagnostic tools such as multimeters, pressure and flow transmitters, and combustion analyzers
+ Serve as a primary technical liaison for customers, including plant operators, engineers, maintenance teams, and management
+ Provide expert technical recommendations to improve system performance, reliability, efficiency, and safety
+ Mentor and support less-experienced service personnel, contractors, or local support resources as required
+ Collaborate closely with U.S.-based sales, engineering, project management, and service teams to resolve technical challenges and support ongoing projects
+ Prepare detailed service reports, timesheets, and technical documentation following each field assignment
+ Ensure strict compliance with Bloom Engineering safety standards, customer site requirements, and applicable local safety regulations
**Commercial & Customer Support Responsibilities**
+ Support Bloom Engineering's commercial efforts by:
+ Making spare parts recommendations to Bloom Engineering's installed customer base
+ Gathering detailed technical information on customer heating applications to support corporate engineering, applications, and sales teams in solution development and proposal preparation
+ Collecting and relaying technical details related to customer warranty claims
+ Build, maintain, and strengthen long-term customer relationships, acting as a trusted technical advisor and representative of Bloom Engineering

**Job Description**
This position is fully accountable for designing new products, redesigning existing products, overseeing the prototype delivery and testing of products to verify the form, fit, function and quality of products for servicing refrigerant systems. The candidate will work closely with a cross functional team to deliver products on-time, on-spec, and on-budget. The candidate will assume full responsibility for all engineering documentation, specifications and required data for the assigned projects. **WHAT YOU WILL DO:**
+ Conceptualize and Design new products/tools to meet customer specifications in a timely, thorough, concise manner utilizing the best of Engineering practices (GD&T, CAD, FMEA, testing, math analysis, etc.)
+ Perform product maintenance of existing products such as cost reduction, warranty analysis, and design improvements over the complete product lifecyle.
+ Team leadership - lead the project team to be creative, accurate, detailed, and professional.
+ Perform design analysis and FMEA's on new tools to assure form, fit, function, and safety.
+ Maintain all project documentation, i.e. schedule, design reviews, FMEAs, drawings, BOM's, etc.
+ Maintain product certifications such as UL and CE.

**Qualifications**

+ Proficiency in PC skills; CAD (Solidworks Drafting +) Microsoft Office (Word, Excel etc) and ERP (Baan +).

+ Thorough knowledge of manufacturing processes.

**Qualifications**
+ Bachelors Degree, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree
+ 2+ years minimum related experience.
+ Proven design skills, utilizing knowledge of similar product, conceptual layouts, locating components, (FEA analysis where required) and 3-D solid modeling. Solidworks training/experience (+)
+ Proficiency in PC skills; CAD (Solidworks Drafting +) Microsoft Office (Word, Excel etc) and ERP (Baan +).
+ Proven experience with Bill of Materials, ECO's, Model shop orders, GD&T, FMEA's
+ Thorough knowledge of manufacturing processes.
+ Proven ability to work effectively in a cross functional team environment. Experience working with global/international teams also highly desirable.

With minimal supervision, the **Field Application Engineer** is responsible for, but not limited to, design and manufacturing related functions required by key customers. This is done synergistically with sales and manufacturing to achieve all customer design targets and goals. This position is in support of the _Bay Area Territory in the Northern California region._ Individuals in this position can be located within the region, but preference is given to the **Bay Area.**
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Responsible for working with OEM engineers, Manufacturer's Representatives, Distribution Partners and Territory Sales Managers to implement Laird solutions for existing, next generation, and cost reduction programs.
+ Regularly attend customer meetings and provide technical design support while simultaneously building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.
+ Utilize Laird and Qnity products and materials to help solve customer challenges with insightful and detailed design solutions.
+ Present design solutions to customer, utilizing modeling and simulation during presentation.
+ Drive customer interactions, prototype, and initial production build to meet stakeholder timelines.
+ Originate and release final production documentation, detailed with critical dimensions and tolerances required for a functional part, but also taking into account manufacturing restrictions.
+ Manage and direct a project through a product development design team consisting of multiple engineering disciplines.
+ Manage and coordinate internal activities to meet product development requirements and timelines in support of customer programs.
