The Billing Analyst is responsible for a variety of tasks and activities including processing orders, checking insurance eligibility, and obtaining insurance authorizations, accounts receivables, invoices, and billing for durable medical equipment and supplies. She/he supports ChelseaCare HME (CCHME) colleagues and provides logistical assistance to the HME Manager.

This position is onsite; there is no option to work remotely. This position will train in Chelsea with the option to work in either Chelsea or Ann Arbor after training.

Minimum high school education, excellent verbal/written communication skills, and computer experience are required. Experience in billing is preferred.

Maintains good rapport and cooperative relationships. Approaches conflict in a constructive manner. Helps to identify problems, offer solutions, and participates in their resolution.

Maintains the confidentiality of information acquired pertaining to patient, physicians, employees, and visitors to Chelsea Hospital/Trinity Health. Discusses patient and hospital information only among appropriate personnel in appropriately private places.

Billing Analysts can have several different work responsibilities:

Processes accounts receivable for equipment and services rendered.

Processes insurance related issues such as verifying the completeness and accuracy of orders prior to claims submission

Processes monthly patient statements and initiates collections

Reviews updates on insurance and governmental guidelines and regulations

Processes physician orders and checks insurance coverage and eligibility, provides financial quotes to patients and obtains insurance authorizations.

May triage incoming faxes and divert to appropriate person or file documents in patients' records.

Monitor and work to resolve issues in software work queue's (incorrect order received/no order on file/CMN expired or not on file to be able to dispense equipment or supplies)

Provides customer service for all billing issues

Contributes to cost containment initiatives

Provides onsite and remote clinical documentation integrity (CDI) support to the Health Ministry (HM) CDI programs as part of the System Office CDI Float Pool. Utilizes advanced coding and/or clinical expertise to direct efforts toward the improvement and integrity of clinical documentation.

Responsible for reviewing and/or auditing medical record clinical documentation to support the medical necessity, severity of illness, risk of mortality, accurate coding, clinical evidence, resources consumed, and level of services rendered to all patients. Audits HM CDSs for query compliance, workflow and missed documentation opportunities. Trains end users in the use of CDI system software, standards, and workflow.

Assists the System Office Clinical Documentation Manager with all aspects of the CDI program across the system including data collection and maintenance of the CDI Dashboard.

May develop educational content for providers and CDSs on CDI workflow and processes, CDI and Physician software systems, and documentation and coding guidelines as requested.

Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws and regulations, accrediting agencies, Trinity Health's Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, Code of Ethics, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.

Must possess a minimum of one of the below:

• Current Registered Nurse License,

Experience with databases, spreadsheet software and presentation software preferred.
