The Department of Neurosurgery at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC) invites applications for a fellowship-trained Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgeon to join our growing multidisciplinary program. The selected candidate will become part of a dynamic academic environment comprised of 12 neurosurgeons representing diverse subspecialty expertise, supported by robust clinical, research, and educational infrastructure across the UNC School of Medicine and UNC Health.

The department provides comprehensive neurosurgical care, including:

  • Aneurysms and cerebrovascular disease
  • Brain tumors
  • Epilepsy and functional neurosurgery
  • Spine and head trauma
  • Hydrocephalus
  • Pituitary and skull base surgery
  • Spinal neurosurgery
  • Pediatric and fetal neurosurgery

The department has experienced significant growth in recent years, including the recruitment of surgeon‑scientists and master clinicians, as well as the addition of a highly skilled multimedia medical illustration team. A new neurosurgical outpatient center has been established within the Ambulatory Care Center (ACC). UNC Health has invested in advanced technologies, including laser interstitial thermal therapy (LITT), robotic platforms, and high‑ and low‑intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU/LIFU). The department has also launched new programs in peripheral nerve and spinal oncology. Research and philanthropic support continue to expand, with $2.52M in grant funding and $2.95M in philanthropic contributions. The department has also demonstrated improved performance in Blue Ridge Institute for Medical Research rankings and U.S. News & World Report rankings.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Provide surgical care for patients with epilepsy and movement disorders in close collaboration with neurology specialists
  • Participate actively in the education and mentorship of residents, fellows, and medical students
  • Contribute to the department's research mission, including:
    • Advancing understanding of neurological disease mechanisms
    • Exploring the biologic and physiologic basis of neurosurgical interventions
    • Developing and refining surgical techniques for epilepsy and functional disorders
    • Engage in interdisciplinary collaborations across UNC's neuroscience, imaging, and engineering communities

A research support package, including start‑up resources and protected time, will be provided based on the candidate's experience, academic achievements, and funding history.

Qualifications
  • MD or MD/PhD (or equivalent) from an accredited institution
  • Board‑certified or board‑eligible by the American Board of Neurological Surgery
  • Fellowship training in stereotactic and functional neurosurgery
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in the state of North Carolina
  • Ability to obtain credentials to practice within the UNC Health Care System
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with neurosurgical, critical care, and multidisciplinary clinical teams
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated expertise in the evaluation and surgical treatment of epilepsy
  • Experience with microelectrode‑guided deep brain stimulation (DBS); experience with asleep DBS preferred
  • Strong clinical track record and commitment to academic productivity

The successful candidate will provide comprehensive general orthopedic care and develop a broad-based orthopedic practice serving Chatham County and the surrounding region. While the primary focus of the role is clinical care, the position offers affiliation with an academic medical center and opportunities for academic engagement. This role is designed to support the continued growth of orthopedic services across Chatham County, strengthen local access to musculoskeletal care, and enhance coordination with UNC Medical Center for patients requiring higher acuity services. The surgeon in this role will practice with a high degree of autonomy and should be comfortable functioning independently in a community environment while collaborating closely with UNC Orthopaedics faculty.

Breast imaging services at UNC Health Johnston Health are delivered in an outpatient ambulatory setting and support diagnostic and procedural care for a diverse patient population. This is a fully clinical role requiring onsite presence at UNC Johnston Health locations.

Position Responsibilities:

* Interpret screening and diagnostic mammography examinations

* Perform breast imaging procedures, including ultrasound guided and stereotactic biopsies

* Interpret breast MRI and perform MRI-guided breast biopsies

* Serve as the lead interpreting physician for breast imaging services, with responsibility for oversight of quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and accreditation of the mammography facility

* Participate in multidisciplinary breast tumor board conferences in collaboration with surgical, medical, and radiation oncology colleagues

* Support the implementation and growth of advanced breast imaging services, including contrast enhanced mammography

* Collaborate with clinical and administrative partners to support program growth and operational excellence

The team at UNC Pediatrics of Cary has more than 30 years of experience and many years of personal parenting experience. The pediatricians and staff are skilled, patient and caring. They serve patients in Cary, Raleigh, and the surrounding area.

Patients are seen only by appointment. Every effort is made to honor all commitments in a timely manner.

Position Specifics:

* Outpatient only
* Adjunct faculty affiliation with UNC, teaching medical students in the clinic is possible

The Department of Radiology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a talented, team-oriented Abdominal Imaging Radiologist to join our expanding division. This is a compelling opportunity to practice advanced abdominal imaging, collaborate with nationally recognized colleagues, and help shape the next generation of radiologists at one of the most respected academic institutions in the country.
Our division serves the mission to improve the health and well-being of North Carolinians at our UNC Hospitals complex, including a level 1 trauma center, a women's hospital, a pediatric hospital, a neurosciences hospital, and the NCI designated Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Position specifics
This position will interpret high-quality CT, MRI, ultrasound, radiographs and fluoroscopy studies and help lead a high-functioning team focused on patient-centered care. You'll also:

* Teach and mentor residents, fellows, and medical students
* Participate in research and scholarly activities in abdominal imaging
* Support institutional quality improvement efforts
* Engage in collaborative protocols, consults, and conferences
