Job Description
This is a rare opportunity to step into a leadership role where your impact is felt every day — in your team, your community, and the families you serve. As a General Manager at Vertin, you'll lead a group of funeral home locations in the Detroit Lakes and surrounding areas, develop talented associates, and carry a mission that has mattered since 1904.
To honor the weight of this role, we've built a compensation package to match: a $30,000 sign-on bonus , relocation assistance , an annual bonus program up to 10% , and profit sharing.
You'll split your time between the big picture and the work that matters most. About 60% of your time is spent serving families directly as a licensed Funeral Director. The rest is focused on leading your operating group — coaching location managers, tracking performance, and building the community presence that drives long-term growth.
- Lead and develop associates across multiple locations with clear expectations and consistent feedback
- Own financial performance and market share goals for your operating group
- Arrange and direct funeral services with professionalism and genuine care
- Build lasting relationships within the communities your locations serve
- Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and company standards across your group
- Active Funeral Director / Mortician license in applicable state(s)- Must be able to hold a MN state mortician license
- 5+ years in funeral service, including direct oversight of others
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) as required for licensure
- Ability to read financial reports and translate results into action
- Strong communicator who builds trust at every level
At Vertin, we value transparency and equity in our hiring process. For this role, the salary range is $95,000-$120,000. Actual compensation will depend on a variety of factors, including skills, experience, qualifications, and location. We also offer a variety of benefits, which include a generous PTO package, medical, dental, vision, 401K and more.
- Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision)
- Retirement Plan (401k, IRA)
- Life Insurance (Basic, Voluntary & AD&D)
- Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick & Public Holidays)
- Family Leave (Maternity, Paternity)
- Short Term & Long Term Disability
- Training & Development
- Wellness Resources
