Food and Beverage Manager

Specializes in forecasting, planning and controlling the ordering of food and beverages for a hospitality property, usually a hotel but it can be a restaurant, bar or food court

Responsibilities:
Plan, forecast and execute food and beverage orders, this can vary daily and seasonally throughout the year depending on events, seasons especially if at a tourist destination
Work with the restaurants, chef and bar staff to plan their supply requirements depending on many variables such as group attendance, booking numbers, holiday festivities, etc
Check non-perishable or long shelf-life food and beverage supplies and place orders when needed
Source vendors and build strong relationships with them.
Track orders and ensure their safe storage and distribution depending on the food type.
Hire and train new restaurant and bar staff.
Ensure that food, health and safety standards are adhered to and staff are correctly trained and hold the necessary certification.
Create training programs for new employees who join any part of the food and beverage department.
This role can involve customer satisfaction so require contact with customers to ensure that they are satisfied with their food and beverage service. You will need to be able to process and deal with customer complaints
As necessary carry out operations meetings with your various team members ensuring good communications about the working week, any changes, shifts, process changes, etc
By using established means of communication, report maintenance, cleaning and security deficiencies to the relevant manager.

Requirements:
Culinary degree is preferred but not necessary
Great leadership and organizational skills
Long-standing experience and knowledge of the food industry
Ability to communicate with all levels of staff
Able to project manage the implementation of many aspects of the role ie new menu, services provided or staff changes
