Full Job Description

Location: The Salvation Army Greenville, SC Area Command - Greenville, SC

 

Position Type : Salaried

Pay Range : $52,227 - $65,000 Annually

 

About this opportunity :

This positions plans, coordinates, supervises, monitors, and participates in all phases of daily accounting functions for the Greenville, SC Area Command including Kroc, Greenville, Pickens, and Oconee Counties. 

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Supervises and evaluates the performance of accounting staff. 
  • Ensures that accounting transactions are performed in a timely manner and in compliance with established policies and procedures and verifies the accuracy and integrity of books.
  • Prepares various routine and complex budgets and financial reports. Attends monthly Advisory Board and Finance Committee and staff meetings.
  • Responsible for counting funds raised from the Christmas Kettle Program and various other fund-raising activities.

 

What are we looking for in you:

  • Bachelor's Degree from and accredited college or university in accounting, bookkeeping, business or related field and
  • Two years' experience in the performance of increasing complex bookkeeping work utilizing a computerized accounting system (Great Plains and/or Sage preferred) with some exposure to double-entry accounting OR
  • Valid Driver's License.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Ability to meet attendance requirements. A bility to read, write, and communicate the English language. Ability to type and keypunch information into a computer. Ability to perform routine and complex mathematical calculations repeatedly, rapidly and accurately. Ability to operate various general office equipment including a computer and 10-key calculator. Ability to effectively and efficiently work on multiple projects at the same time without becoming frustrated or disorganized. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for up to 60% of work time when reading reports, preparing budgets or researching financial transactions. Ability to manage mental and visual fatigue due to sustained periods of concentration, working under pressure of deadliness and continual interruptions in concentration. Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking.

Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather of discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
