A little about you:

As a member of the News Mobile Engineering group, you will build high performance, scalable, accessible and elegant mobile applications.You will also build the next generation applications for mobile devices with an emphasis on emotional experiences and constant attention to performance, accessibility and user delights; work with other Software Engineers, Product Managers, Designers, Architects, to build amazing and emotional experiences for Yahoo users; focus on enabling best customer experiences, and partner with the Product and Design team to redesign and implement user interfaces.

Responsibilities:

• Work on the News and Weather Android apps features and maintenance

• All new code is almost exclusively Kotlin, Coroutines, MVVM, Hilt, and other goodies!

• Review your peers’ code

• Participate in monitoring of the apps in production

• Participate in team organization through standups, planning sessions, and retrospectives

Qualifications:

• Experience with Android development

• Experience with adjacent mobile technologies like telemetry, crash reporting, performance optimization, UI/UX design systems, etc.

The compensation for this position ranges from $111,000.00 - $231,250.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
