Full Job Description

The School of Nursing and Health Sciences at Vermont State University invites applications for a Full-Time Tenure-Track Assistant Professor position in the Department of Nursing RN to BSN Online Degree Program. We seek candidates with general medical-surgical nursing, community health, pathophysiology, global health, nursing leadership, and research experience working in an educational setting and/or acute or chronic-care setting. Preference will be given to those with previous classroom, simulation, distance/online and/or clinical teaching experiences and active professional nursing practice. The successful candidate would start in Fall 2024 (August).

Responsibilities:
Teaching load will average 24 credit hours or the equivalent per academic year. Online didactic courses, with potential for virtual simulation and preceptorship courses. Classes and/or disciplines expected to teach include pathophysiology and advanced assessment, healthcare systems, global health, health promotion, and others as needed. This work will be done in the RN to BSN Online Program. Other duties as assigned are anticipated and expected per department and program needs. Committee service and academic advising are expected per faculty contract.

Minimum Qualifications:
Qualified candidates must possess a Master's Degree in Nursing but prefer a Terminal Degree in Nursing (DNP, PhD, or EdD) and have previous teaching experience in nursing. An active, unencumbered Vermont RN license or eligibility for an unencumbered Vermont license is required. A valid driver's license is required. The successful candidate must be committed to excellence, scholarship, and innovation in undergraduate online teaching, ongoing professional development, and working closely with our Nursing Department and students.

Salary:
Based on qualifications and experience as defined by VSC-VSCFF Bargaining Unit Agreement.
