ADN Program Clinical Teaching Assistant: CTA shall supervise student clinical learning experiences in accordance with the BON and Grayson College ADN policies and procedures.

 

The hourly rate range for this position is $35.00/hr.

 

 

Responsibilities
  • 80% Supervise student clinical learning experiences when the qualified and experienced faculty member is physically present in the affiliate agency or alternative practice setting with a faculty to student ratio of 2:15 (faculty plus clinical teaching assistant).
  • 5% Participate in a training meeting with the ADN faculty for an orientation to clinical teaching and to establish a mutual plan to enable students to meet clinical objectives.
  • 5% Plan with the nursing faculty member to provide learning experiences related to clinical objectives.
  • 5% Coordinate with the ADN faculty member to provide quality learning clinical experiences to meet objectives.
  • 5% Participate in ongoing verbal and written formative evaluation of students and clinical experiences to measure the attainment of objectives.

Qualifications
  • Must hold a current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Texas.
  • Have clinical expertise in order to function effectively and safely at the designated level of clinical assignment.
  • Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. 
  • Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the college for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage students in the learning process and proven commitment to student success.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements designated by the clinical agencies. 
  • Does require the ability to physically stand for prolonged periods of time, perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation, lift patients, and move from room to room or maneuver in limited spaces.
