The Associate Editor works with the editorial team to fill content for Pharmacy Times ’ website and publications. The Associate Editor pitches story ideas, creates and maintains relationships with organizations, and assists with managing long-term projects. Some travel is required to attend meetings throughout the year. There will also be some opportunities to work with the Managing Editor on growing Pharmacy Times Oncology Edition and Pharmacy Times Health Systems Edition and soliciting research for peer review.

This position is ideal for someone with previous working experience or extensive internship experience who would like to expand their responsibilities and improve their skills. Duties include but are not limited to: conducting and editing video interviews and podcasts; writing and editing compelling digital content; and assisting with executing special projects.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Responsibilities:

• Assist in implementing the strategic vision for the publications: work with the Managing Editor to check in new submissions, invite peer reviewers for submissions, prepare manuscripts for publication, and post journal content online.
• Write compelling articles for online.
• Meet all deadlines for print and online content.
• Schedule and conduct video interviews with industry experts.
• Edit compelling video content of pharmacist interviews using iMovie.
• Record, edit, and produce podcasts.
• Assist with social media platforms to promote content.
• Attend conferences to cover sessions, film video interviews, and identify potential future authors.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of BA/BS in a relevant field
• 1-2 years writing/publishing experience
• Ability to write clearly and quickly while adhering to house style guide
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet strict deadlines to thrive in a fast-paced and fluid environment
• Ability to communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders in a timely fashion
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Superior organizational skills and attention to detail
• Knowledge of AMA style a plus
