Title: Technician I, Computer Services

Under general supervision, maintains DeKalb County School District's student information system; researches issues and creates solutions and communicates with administrators, registrars, secretaries, and counselors in all schools, centers, and administrative offices regarding eSIS software.

Essential Functions:

The following duties are representative for this position. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.

• Supports core users of eSIS and responds to electronic ticket requests from users to provide instruction for issues
• Trains core users on navigating through eSIS (Electronic Student Information Systems) application, including basic training for new users and more advanced training for specific groups of users (e.g., counselors and registrars).
• Cleans and edits data when users have incorrectly input information or when eSIS has not updated correctly or completely.
• Researches all processes concerning eSIS to correct issues with software.
• Maintains documentation of processes concerning eSIS for all users or specific individuals/groups of users.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by education/technical training in Computer Science, Information Technology, Database Management or closely related area is required.

Minimum of three (3) years of systems support, information system training or closely related computer operations experience is required.
