Full Job Description

Seeking Certified Medical Assistants (bilingual a plus!) to join a clinic in San Antonio, Texas. Both front- and back-office positions are available. The back office position is a clinical role assisting the doctors with patients while the front office position will consist of scheduling, insurance verification, and reception.

BENEFITS/SCHEDULE/PAY:

• $16.00-$20.00/hr DOE
• Medical, Vision, Dental
• Full-time Mon-Fri daytime office hours
• Weekly Pay if Temp-to-Hire!

• Assist physicians by setting up procedures and exams, compression garment fitting, wound dressing care, etc.
• Administer medication as ordered by the physicians, and monitor for adverse reactions
• Perform patient history, assessment of the current complaint, and vital signs measurement; document in the medical record, and provide direct patient care
• Clean, disinfect, and sterilize reusable instruments and packs
• Document all transactions, phone conversations, treatments, and orders in the patient's medical record
• Communicate pre-operative instructions and proper follow-up
• Review medical records (labs, x-rays, pathology reports, CT scans, MRI, etc.) and bring them to the attention of the physician
• Maintain patient confidentiality, HIPAA and OSHA compliance
• Physician liaison with patients, vascular lab, hospital personnel, home health agencies, pharmaceutical representatives, and nursing home personnel, etc.
• Adheres to the policy/procedures of the organization
• Ability to maintain regular attendance is an essential function

• Graduation/Certification from an approved medical assistance program
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team player
• Current CPR Certification
• Broad medical experience with an emphasis on direct patient care
• Medical terminology knowledge
• Attention to detail
• Ability to maintain composure when confronted with fast-paced/stressful situations
• Pleasant attitude, neat appearance, and flexibility
• Good organization/time management skills
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Self-starter
