 As a Childcare provider this position reports directly to the Child Care Center Director and is responsible for providing on-site day care services to all children assigned to their care in compliance with all Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services (TDPRS) and Blue Skies of Texas policies and procedures.  The incumbent occupies a position of confidence and trust in relation to children, family members, and staff and must maintain confidentiality in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act regulations.   

What you will do in this role:

• Must be familiar with and abide by standards set forth by the TDPRS regarding Child Care programs.
• Assists in the maintenance of all child care admission records, health records, and emergency medical information in accordance with TDPRS standards.
• Maintains Parents’ Guides to Child Care as set forth by TDPRS.
• Assists in the maintenance of daily children attendance records.
• In the absence of the Child Care Center Director, assumes responsibility for day-to-day operations in compliance with TDPRS standards.
• Assists in the maintenance of the nutrition program and dietary plan in compliance with regulations.
• Ensures adequate supplies for dietary needs are on hand.
• Assists in the identification and assurance that all equipment, toilet facilities, and furnishings are clean, operable, in good repair, and that all sanitation and safety guidelines are met.
• Exhibits competence and good judgment and self-control in working with children and relates to them with courtesy, respect, and patience.
• Provides children with age-appropriate, developmentally-related structured activities that provide a variety of experiences.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor

Qualifications:

• : High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must possess excellent customer service skills and be able to speak, read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions in English. 
• Must possess strict honesty and integrity and be even-tempered, self-motivated, and address and promptly report areas of concern and safety issues to the Childcare Center Director.   

In 1970, the first of our two campuses opened in San Antonio. Air Force Village I was followed in 1987 by Air Force Village II. For decades, our campuses created a community for officers of the armed forces - a retirement lifestyle rich with camaraderie and the shared common bond. We began by providing support to the widows of those who have served, and that legacy continues. In 2014, we expanded our eligibility to embrace a wider range of retired seniors, including those from civilian careers. With this change, a new name - Blue Skies of Texas - was added, and the campuses were renamed Blue Skies East and Blue Skies West. Continuing to offer modern residences and a range of senior-focused services and amenities, the Air Force Village legacy we cherish carries forward in Blue Skies of Texas.
