Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. We are designing, manufacturing, and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers for 100 miles at speeds of up to 150 mph while producing minimal noise.

Archer’s Powertrain Engineering group is looking for a highly motivated student to support the Manufacturing Engineering Team. Role is focused on supporting the Electric Engine program (Rotor, Stator, Inverter, Gearbox Assembly, Power Electronics, Final Assembly) programs.

What you’ll do:
- Supporting the team in continuous improvements in the development of the Electric Motor (Engine) process development.
- Assist in developing Key Product Initiatives (KPI) analysis and identifying improvement opportunities
- Apply knowledge of manufacturing processes to collaborate with cross functional teams including Product Design Engineering, Quality, and Facilities teams
- Participate in early prototype product builds to characterize and develop both product and process critical parameters.
- Support the development of Training/Standard Work Instruction documentation for assembly and installation
- Develop specification and/or design manufacturing equipment/ fixtures
- Implement process control parameters and strategies to ensure process capability
What you need:
- Actively working towards obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronic, or an equivalent & related practical experience with a passion for Manufacturing.
- Excellent communicator, both in presentations and written reports.
- Able to maintain organization and focus in a highly dynamic environment.
- Prefer ability to travel 10% of the time, both domestically and internationally.
Bonus Qualifications:
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing
- Experience using 2D and/or 3D CAD
- Understanding of statistical process control and GD&T
- Prior internships/co-ops in manufacturing
- Knowledge of Atlassian Suite (JIRA/Confluence)
Additional Details:
- Program duration will be approximately 6 Months starting May 2024
- Must be able to work a full time schedule (approximately 40 hours per week) at our office location.

Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
