Our client, a reputable employer in the greater Grand Rapids area, is seeking to hire an IT Product Verification / Serialization Engineer to join their team. This organization strives and achieves in providing innovative solutions, while exceeding customer expectations, while upholding critical regulatory quality standards.

Position Summary: Providing IT support for the Serialization program on technical matters. Work with all supervision and employees to ensure that cGMPs and our Clients’ SOPs, policies and work instructions are being followed. Maintain policies and quality standards on the production floor and in the warehouse.


Required / Desired Skills :

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or relative degree preferred, or equivalent experience considered
  • 1-3 years’ experience of IT technical support in Serialization, Product Verification, Traceability or similar capacity role with data configuration and authentication of products experience.
  • Understanding of Pharma Serialization preferred but will consider other industry serialization or identification, barcode label creation and tracking experience in a manufacturing or packaging setting.
  • Experience with data transmission or EDI – data mapping and transfer of info to customers, preferred
  • Experience with Systech systems or similar, preferred.
  • Familiarity with formal Change Management and Incident Management Processes.
  • Strong technical knowledge of PC’s Laptops, printers, and peripheral hardware device
  • Basic Mechanical and mathematical aptitude required
  • The ability to work independently, without supervision required
  • Ability to organize priorities and workload required

Computer/Communication Skills:


  • Working knowledge of MES related software, preferred
  • Ability to comprehend and follow written English instruction and specifications, required
  • Basic comprehension of the English language: reading and writing skills to understand and complete necessary paperwork, required

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that day-to- day serialization requirements are met.
  • Administers and performs functions utilizing the Systech Guardian, Advisor, and Unitrace systems.
  • Administers and performs functions utilizing the TraceLink system.
  • Review customer specs and align with existing Serialization systems and configurations.
  • Administers validation protocols.
  • Administers and performs functions of the Bar Tender to Builder interface.
  • Administers and performs functions with Interface between Systech and Multi-feeder (HTSE ).
  • Manages vendors that support serialization systems.
  • Works to improve the effectiveness of the quality management system through the use of the quality policy, quality objectives, audit results, analysis of data, corrective and preventive actions.
  • Elevates complaints and problems, seeks Management assistance.
  • Ensure proper PPE’s and Safety procedures are followed.
  • Flexibly to work other shifts, on average 8 hours, however at times 10 or 12 hours as needed.
  • Performs any other functions and duties assigned and necessary for the smooth and efficient operation of our client’s facility and customer service.
