This role involves providing technical expertise and support for Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and communication between trading partners, analyzing and developing Data Exchange Interfaces, participating in systems design and quality assurance activities. It includes creating and maintaining partner relationships with users and vendors, developing EDI mapping specifications and documentation, testing, implementing, and maintaining EDI transactions, handling communications with trading partners, and ensuring mapping compliance.
Additionally, the position involves resolving technical issues, developing guidelines, checklists, procedures, and training documentation. The focus of this critical role is to act as a liaison between the Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) and hospitals, facilitating the onboarding process of Electronic Case Reports (eCR) and enhancing Electronic Laboratory Reporting (ELR). Responsibilities include tracking communication, overcoming onboarding obstacles, ensuring hospital compliance with reporting criteria, and collaborating closely with stakeholders for successful data exchange in public health. The ideal candidate should possess strong communication, project management skills, and a deep understanding of electronic data exchange and public health reporting requirements.
This is an intermediate professional level role. The position will provide EDI development, maintenance, and support using Rhapsody data integration engine. The position will have to work on multiple projects as a team member. EDI experience is necessary. XML experience is required. The person must have moderate technical writing skills.
HL7 knowledge preferred.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.
