Description

Front Desk Receptionist

Reports to: Guest Services Manager

Supervises: None

Classification: Non-Exempt

Job Summary

Assist members and guests in all front office-related areas in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner that maintains high standards of service and hospitality.

Essential Functions

Leadership
  • Promotes a positive work culture.
Guest Procedures/Technology
  • Registers owners and guests and complies with special requests whenever possible.
  • Coordinates room status updates by notifying Housekeeping of all check-outs, late check-outs, early check-ins, special requests and part-day rooms.
  • Operates room key system and front-office equipment including the telephone, printer, and computer systems.
  • Uses proper telephone etiquette.
  • Knows daily activities and meetings taking place in the club.
  • Processes mail, packages, and messages.
  • Reports unusual occurrences or requests to the Reception Manager.
  • Maintains the cleanliness and neatness of the front desk and lobby areas.
  • Monitors room status information.
  • Knows room locations and types of rooms available.
  • Follows procedures for issuing and closing safe deposit boxes used by members and guests.
Other Functions
  • Uses suggestive selling techniques to promote other services of the club.
  • Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by the Reception Manager.
  • Knowledge of and ability to perform required roles during emergency situations.
  • Follows proper credit, cash, checking, and cash-handling policies and procedures
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
  • High school diploma, GED equivalent or higher preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Occasional bending, stooping, lifting, and pulling.
  • Frequent sitting, walking, and standing for long periods of time.
  • Continuous repetitive actions.
  • Must be able to see the computer screen, paperwork, etc.
  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds.
