SEWING IS A VALUED DEPARTMENT

Sewing follows the One-piece Flow system. One-piece flow is working as a team to complete one product at a time from off of the Pathfinder, through the sewing process, until that one product is sealed into a box and ready for shipment to our valued customers.

The Sewing Department is not exclusively sewing. There are plenty of positions that do not involve running a sewing machine. We have a robot that runs patterns to keep a sewing machine busy. We have 3 CNC machines to cut fabric patterns. We have a machine that cuts fiber sheets. We also have a fiber blower that fills cushions and pillows. There are general labor positions that help to stuff cushions with fiber or foam packs, finish and close cushions to get them ready for the customers, sealing, boxing, and palletizing. These are just a handful of the positions in the department.

General Labor positions available that do not require any sewing skills:

  • Sling assembly
  • Cushion stuffing that involves using cut fiber or foam pack inserts
  • Cushion finishing and closing to make our product look appropriate before sending to our customers.
  • Cushions scanning and sealing
  • Boxing and palletizing
  • Fabric folding
  • Running a grommet and zipper machine
  • Making buttons and cutting seat ties to appropriate lengths
Requirements

  • Must be able to work in shifts 8-10 hours long (longer is needed), where you are regularly required to stand, walk, and use basic sensory functions
