Job Summary:

  • Work alongside of the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR), focusing on the eastern side of the state.
  • Hybrid position: Some days at Beltsville State Park, telework, and onsite visits for inspections or training.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize DCNR action plan for scheduling, responsibilities, and tracking completion.
  • Coordinate and conduct worksite safety inspections primarily in eastern PA.
  • Develop and deliver health and safety training in-person or via webinar.
  • Conduct AIPP-compliant assessments, audits, hazard inspections, and incident investigations.
  • Analyze data, prepare technical reports, and provide recommendations for injury trend analysis.
  • Provide support for injury/illness prevention, safety, industrial hygiene, and AIPP compliance.
  • Work independently to offer on-site health and safety support.
  • Travel approximately 20%, with around 50% during summer months. Rare overnight travel.

Requirements and Experience:

  • 2+ years of direct safety experience
  • Reliable transportation is required
  • Ability to work from home without distractions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Great written and verbal communication skills

Education and Credentials:

  • Degree in a safety related field highly preferred
  • Third party certifications highly preferred

Physical Requirements:  

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking 
  • Extended period of working via computer | Sitting for extended periods of time
