EHS Dangerous Goods (DG)Transportation Compliance. This function will
report into the EHS Director Dangerous Goods & Transportation Safety.

The
Manager role consists in providing direct technical DG advice to sites
and business partners in J&J's Pharmaceutical and MedTech sector. This
role enables continuous strengthening of the enterprise DG knowledge
and capabilities through developing technical solutions, delivering
training (virtual/onsite), creation of technical standards, guidelines
and tools, taking into account the various sector, regional,
functional and/or site-specific needs.
Through demonstrating
global multimodal supply chain experience, the role collaborates
closely with different business functions to identify business process
improvement opportunities and provide strategic contribution.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide E2E DG support in J&J Innovative Medicines and MedTech R&D, Supply chain and Commercial. Identify process, standards, strategical and tactical opportunities.
- Coordinate deployment of EHS transportation safety strategy.
- Maintain enterprise DG master data and business rules for ERP (SAP S/4).
- Lead and deliver on global DG compliance projects and/or initiatives.
- Development and delivery of training materials.
- Interpret and communicate current and emerging regulatory and J&J requirements at a global level. Continuously monitor the changing regulatory climate to proactively assess and communicate industry trends and emerging areas with potential impact to DG compliance programs.
- Develop recommendations on technical standards and guidelines for processes and functional requirements ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements.
- Become member of the EHS Auditor pool.
- Function as Incident/Accident contact for the 24/7 Emergency Response service.
- Collaborate with Safety Data Sheet Authoring team on Transportation Safety compliance aspects.
- Shape the EHS DG Portal & increase the visibility of the program by developing a communication strategy that fits the needs of our internal and external customers.
- Participate in Key Trade organizations and maintain a strong global external network
- Technical alignment with external consultants & vendors
- A minimum of a Bachelor degree is required. Focus degree in Logistics, Engineering, Chemistry or equivalent is preferred. A Master's degree is preferred.
Required:
- A minimum of 6 years in a multimodal global DG compliance role.
- Excellent knowledge of multimodal USDOT 49CFR and international DG transportation legislation
- Profound hands-on experience and knowledge in multimodal shipping processes and transport legislations.
- Experience in running DG compliance programs in Pharmaceutical / Chemical / Biological / MedTech context.
- Strong IT knowledge (experience in working with SAP) and leading projects to facilitate data management processes
- Experienced in Dangerous Goods Compliance auditing (setting up auditing systems and lead auditing)
- Good understanding of GHS/CLP regulations.
- Proven project management in a complex (regulatory and global) environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and influencing skills
- Well-spoken, pro-active, independent, proficient, and able to function in a fast paced global and culturally diverse environment.
- Attention to detail with the ability to see the big picture.
- Be able to make decisions and take ownership.
- Language requirements - English
- Requires up to 10% domestic and international travel
- Certifications required: IATA DGR / IMDG / US DOT 49CFR
- Certifications preferred: Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor ADR/RID (DGSA) / Certified Dangerous Goods professional (IHMM CDGP)
- This position will be primary located in Somerset, NJ or at any of the following locations Memphis, TN, Mooresville, IN, Shepherdsville, KY and/or Jacksonville, FL.
