Micromobility Coordinators oversee the daily operation of Parking and Transportation’s micromobility programs, i.e., bikes, scooters, mopeds, and other similar devices, with the primary goal of enabling the safe and responsible use of micromobility as an effective form of transportation and alternative to single-occupancy vehicles. To meet this goal, the role focuses on improving and maintaining micromobility infrastructure, increasing communication and outreach with the UVA community, and enforcement of University policy and parking restrictions as they relate to micromobility. Most of their time will be spent on Grounds, where they will serve as the face of the P&T and act as a liaison between the department and UVA community.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Regularly inspect micromobility infrastructure (racks, striping, signage, fixit stations) for wear and tear/damage/missing.
- Add, remove, and upgrade infrastructure as needed and updates GES database to reflect changes.
- Attend/organize UVA, local, and regional events and initiatives to promote micromobility programs.
- Design/create promotional and marketing materials for raising micromobility awareness.
- Manage micromobility webpages on P&T website. Conduct surveys and collects data.
- Enforce bike rack and moped parking. Impounds/tows vehicles as needed.
- In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties relating P&T’s alternative transportation initiatives maybe be assigned.
Qualified candidates must have:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: One year of experience in community engagement, marketing, or program management. Student experience may be considered.
- Licensure: State of Virginia Driver's License. Must have a positive point balance on license.
The position requires the ability to proficiently ride a bike, scooter, and moped as well as the ability to lift 50 lbs.
This position is located in Charlottesville, VA.
The anticipated hiring range is $21.63 - $24.04 hourly ($45,000 - $50,000 annualized); commensurate with education and experience. This is a non-exempt level, benefited position.
