Job DescriptionAs a Prep Cook at Ole Red, you are responsible for several crucial tasks that directly affect our guest's experience. In this role you will cook a variety of dishes using methods like sauteing, grilling, frying, baking, and roasting. You play an important role in properly storing and labeling food, organizing walk-in coolers, and maintaining appropriate temperatures. You will read printer and kitchen display tickets making sure to produce all products as described. You will play an important role in making sure all dishes are made to order, while adhering to established portion control guidelines.
In this role you will:
- Perform basic to more advanced knife skills such as slice, chop, mince, julienne, dice. You will use knives, mixers, choppers, grinders, an all other equipment in a safe manner following policies.
- Maintain sanitation levels at all times.
- Clean and organize walk-in coolers, food production areas, equipment, and general kitchen areas.
- Clean and breakdown workstation. Return supplies and ingredients to proper storage at the end of the shift.
- Complete closing side work, make sure cooking equipment is turned off and kitchen is secure at the end of the shift.
- Return dishes to dish area and communicate with stewards in regards to clean dishes, pots, pans , etc. Helping with dishwashing procedures as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate would :
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Currently have a State Food Handler Safety Card (required to have upon hire).
Bonus points if you have previous culinary experience!
