SSCI is looking to fill a Principal Investigator / Technical Program Manager position for software projects relating to autonomous space systems.

SSCI Space Solutions group is focused on the development, demonstration, and deployment of innovative space system solutions for US Government customers based on AI, ML and autonomy technologies.

Duties

Manage a portfolio of 3-5 space programs, projects, and associated internal research and development (IRAD)

Manage talented software engineering teams to meet program schedule, cost, and technical objectives of government funded multi-platform autonomy, mission management, perception, and small sat demonstration programs

Lead software development, implementation, testing and support for software systems onboard autonomous spacecraft

Work as part of a team to design, implement, and test autonomy algorithms for autonomous satellites in constellation/cluster/RPO/single-vehicle missions

Requirements

Required Skills/Experience

10+ years’ experience in project/program leadership experience and R&D of Space/Robotics/Autonomous Systems Software.

Broad technical experience across a wide variety of space systems and software, including some or all of: autonomy, networks, distributed systems, planning and resource management, mission management, GNC, perception software, DevSecOps

Demonstrated ability to recruit, lead, and manage technical staff

Experience successfully leading and delivering Flight Software for space systems and/or Autonomous Unmanned Systems

Experience leading geographically disbursed teams

Excellent presentation and communication skills

Knowledge of Agile software development

Desired Skills/Experience

Experience with spacecraft sensor integration

Experience with developing and testing embedded software for SmallSats / CubeSats, satellite mission planning, and ground systems
