The Private Equity Business Developer (PEBD) serves as a
strategic ambassador for the firm's Private Equity (PE) practice group
and is responsible for growing brand awareness and market share. The
Private Equity Business Developer develops, manages, and expands new
and existing client and referral relationships for the PE practice.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Attend and network at all events for the PE practice, fostering
relationships and facilitating follow-up connections.
- Assess the ROI of each event sponsorship and explore new
conference opportunities for attendance or sponsorship.
- Gather market intelligence through in-person and digital
networking and trend monitoring; document and report on progress using
firm contact relationship software and reporting tools.
- Develop and implement strategies to cultivate business with
current and prospective PE clients, including ideation, consensus
building, and execution.
- Maintain collaborative
internal relationships and communicate effectively with PE attorneys
and other team members to support the growth of the PE practice.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the PE practice
through involvement in collateral and thought leadership development.
- Proactively cross-sell existing and new PE clients;
identifying opportunities and facilitating discussions focused on
introducing new services to existing client relationships.
- Collaborate with BD team members to execute and refine the PE
strategy plan.
- Directly support the achievement of new
business development benchmark goals.
- Demonstrated understanding of the
PE industry and market trends or the ability and intellectual
curiosity to learn about the PE industry.
- Strong
organizational skills and proven capacity for networking and
generating lasting business development relationships.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and an executive
presence with a strong ability to interact with senior/C-level
leaders.
- Understanding of client service acumen and
excellent ability to motivate and influence others both internally and
externally.
- Knowledge of CRM systems and experience
management databases a plus.
- Proficiency in MS Office
Suite, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Entrepreneurial, highly self-motivated, persuasive,
priority-driven, and collaborative.
- Ability to
multi-task, meet deadlines, manage ambiguity, and perform well under
pressure.
- Ability to travel nationally, up to 50% of
the time.
- Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of training, education,
and experience that demonstrates the requisite knowledge and ability
to perform the duties of the position.
- Minimum of three
(3) years business development or sales experience, preferably within
a law firm or within the PE industry.
- Strong project
and process management experience.

Hiring Salary Range:
$120,000.00 - $140,000.00
