The Recruitment and
Marketing Strategist develops strategies for the recruitment and
retention of students for graduate school programs. The strategist
will execute and optimize marketing plans (email communication plans,
direct mail, web, and event marketing) for graduate programs while
closely partnering with the central marketing, web, and strategic
enrollment technology teams. The strategist will also build, maintain,
and interpret data associated with graduate programs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Recruiting will consist of creating a comprehensive,
multi-mode recruitment plan utilizing best practices for graduate
student recruitment; establishing recruitment benchmarks, timeframes,
and monitoring/reporting progress towards achieving established
benchmarks; assist with recruiting graduate students across all
programs and liaise with different colleges to coordinate recruitment
efforts; attending regional graduate fairs; coordinating University
graduate fairs and developing new outreach programs for graduate
students.
Marketing will utilize best practices
for marketing to the diverse population of prospective graduate school
enrollees; establishing marketing benchmarks, timeframes, and
monitoring/reporting progress towards achieving established benchmarks
and deploying various strategies; creating marketing materials such as
flyers, and presentations with some regional travel; analyzing
surveys, questionnaires and other forms of feedback, organizing market
research and maintaining a marketing database; and leveraging online
marketing techniques to increase graduate applications for admission.
This position will work very closely and integrate with our existing
campus Marketing group.
Non-academic program
support will consist of creating a comprehensive graduate assistant
management plan to better monitor and coordinate graduate student
assistantships; providing support to programs as they hire graduate
assistants and marketing these opportunities. In addition, they will
assist with graduate orientations, professional development, and
building out a comprehensive fact book as well as generating a variety
of reports.
The ideal candidate will
possess the following:
- Knowledge of
best practices and ability to create detailed communication plans
(email, direct mail, event).
- Strong
understanding and skill of project management and event
management.
- Excellent written communication
skills and expertise in copy writing and editing.
- Excellent communication skills with partners across
campus.
- Ability to measure success and create
consistent reports.
- Ability to work with a
wide group of individuals across campus.

Abilities in Microsoft 360 (including Teams).

Minimum Qualifications: Requires a Bachelor’s
degree in Marketing, Communications or a relevant field from a
four-year accredited university, and one to two years of relevant
experience (recruitment, marketing, or admissions), or an equivalent
combination of education, training, and experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree.
