SCOPE:

As a Social Media Marketing Intern at UAIC, you will play a vital role in our marketing and communications efforts. This paid internship is designed for a motivated student majoring in marketing or communications. You will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in social media management, content creation, and public relations within the insurance industry. Your responsibilities will include assisting in the creation and delivery of engaging social media posts, monitoring audience interactions, assisting in the development of social media strategies, and supporting written communications and PR initiatives. This position offers a blend of creative content creation, data analysis, and collaborative teamwork, providing you with valuable skills and insights into the dynamic world of insurance marketing. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, allowing for a combination of remote work and in-office collaboration as needed.

DUTIES :

  • Assist in the creation and curation of engaging content for social media platforms, including posts, graphics, videos, and stories.
  • Develop and implement a content calendar to ensure consistent and timely posting.
  • Monitor social media channels for comments, messages, and mentions, and respond or escalate as necessary.
  • Use social media management tools to schedule posts, track performance metrics, and analyze audience engagement.
  • Collaborate with marketing team and Chief Communications Officer to brainstorm and create compelling content that aligns with the company's brand voice and goals.
  • Research industry trends, news, and relevant topics to incorporate into social media content.
  • Edit and optimize content for each social media platform, considering best practices for maximum reach and engagement.
  • Assist in developing and executing social media strategies to grow the company's online presence and reach target audiences.
  • Monitor social media analytics to track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as engagement rates, follower growth, and website traffic.
  • Use data insights to make informed decisions and adjustments to social media campaigns for optimal results.
  • Assist in drafting written communications, including press releases, blog posts, and newsletter articles, to promote company news, events, and initiatives.
  • Conduct research and gather information for media pitches, press kits, and other PR materials.
  • Support public relations efforts by maintaining media lists, coordinating media inquiries, and tracking press coverage.
  • Work closely with internal teams such as marketing, sales, customer service, and product development to ensure consistent messaging and brand alignment across all communications channels.
  • Collaborate with external agencies, vendors, and partners on social media campaigns, sponsored content, and promotional activities.
  • Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and training opportunities to contribute ideas and stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations summarizing social media performance, campaign results, and key insights.
  • Present findings and recommendations to the marketing team and other stakeholders, providing actionable insights for continuous improvement and optimization.
EDUCATION:
  • Currently enrolled as a student at a local university, pursuing a degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and their best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative thinking and the ability to generate engaging content ideas.
  • Familiarity with social media analytics tools is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to occasionally work in the office as needed.
