Salary/Hourly Rate:

 

Clerical Class III : $15.79 or above based on qualifications

 

Work Schedule :
8 hours/day ,40 hours/week ,185 days/year

 

Job Summary:

 

Provide support and assistance for counselors, social workers and nurse.  Assist students, parents, staff and public in Student Service Center.  Primary duties include: receive and respond to telephone calls from parents regarding absences, tardiness, school excuses, and messages to their students; schedule appointments for students and parents with counselors, social workers, and nurse; enter new student information and test scores of new enrollees into a student database on an ongoing basis; maintain cum files by grade for all students (report cards, test results, etc); substitute for Athletic/Attendance Secretary when necessary.  Provide copier support, act as liaison between counselors and special education/504's for scheduling purposes.   Assist with special tasks, projects, and events, as requested. Provide front desk coverage as needed.

   

Qualifications:

 

A background of increasingly responsible secretarial experience totaling three or more years.  Experience with computers and assorted software (word processing, database and spreadsheet).  Must have excellent human relation skills;  effectiveness at maintaining confidentiality of information;  effectiveness in working with diverse communities of parents, students, and staff.
