Senior Electrical Engineer | Healthcare, Hospital and Laboratory Facilities

Job Description:

Immediate need for an experienced Electrical Engineer with a proven interest in building design and sound knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals, particularly with health care, laboratory, pharma, or hospital facilities projects.

Responsibilities:

Design power distribution, lighting, fire alarm and telecommunications plans including all associated circuitry, details, one-line diagrams and specifications

Perform system design calculations, load calculations, arc flash and fault current, lighting, and any other calculations required to support electrical design

Prepare electrical construction documents including drawings, specifications, and reports for buildings (in lab, higher education, historical renovation, museums, and offices)

Review electrical documents for areas of conflict with all building systems

Work closely with the client and other design team members, including owners, architects, and contractors

Selection and specification of appropriate equipment

Attend meetings and communicate with clients to establish their needs and discuss design issues

Job Requirements:

8 to 15 years of professional experience in designing Electrical Systems for healthcare, laboratory or institutional building projects with AE or MEP consulting firms

Must have a strong healthcare, laboratory, or hospital project list

Strong AutoCAD and Revit capabilities

Strong understanding of the NEC and the International Building Codes

Ability to multi-task with multiple projects in order to meet strict deadlines

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and in writing

Education:

Bachelors in Electrical Engineering - PE license desired
