Position Title: Social Media Marketing Intern

Position Summary

NJII is seeking a motivated and creative Social Media Marketing Intern to join our dynamic team for a summer internship program. The intern will work closely with the centralized Marketing team to develop and execute social media strategies aimed at increasing brand awareness, engagement, and driving traffic to NJII's digital platforms.

Essential Functions
  1. Content Creation: Assist in the creation of engaging and relevant content for NJII's social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube.
  2. Community Management: Monitor NJII's social media channels, respond to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner, and engage with the online community to foster positive relationships.
  3. Campaign Execution: Support the planning, execution, and optimization of social media campaigns to promote NJII's events, programs, initiatives, and thought leadership content.
  4. Analytics and Reporting: Track, analyze, and report on key social media metrics and performance indicators using tools like Google Analytics, Hootsuite, or Sprout Social. Provide insights and recommendations for improvement based on data analysis.
  5. Market Research: Conduct research on industry trends, competitor activities, and best practices in social media marketing to identify opportunities for NJII to enhance its online presence and stay ahead of the curve.
  6. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, including Marketing, Divisions and People teams to align social media efforts with overall organizational goals and initiatives.


Prerequisite Qualifications -
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and creativity.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms and management tools. Hootsuite a plus.
  • Basic understanding of social media analytics and reporting.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and trends in social media marketing.
  • Previous internship or work experience in social media marketing, digital marketing, or related fields is a plus.
