Sr. Engineer II - Substation Development

11+Month Contract

Las Vegas, NV (onsite)

Client is currently seeking a highly experienced Senior Substation Engineer to join the team immediately. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive engineering design services for substation facilities, ensuring timely construction within allocated resources, and offering leadership and guidance to fellow team members.

Responsibilities:

Develop cost-effective and technically feasible substation physical and control designs.

Act as an expert resource for providing engineering solutions to complex problems.

Direct and lead an engineering team in producing accurate designs and products.

Provide precise cost estimates for budgeting purposes, ensuring adherence to company policies.

Coordinate project schedules and expenditures with other departments to maintain commitments.

Contribute to the development of detailed project schedules and update project management systems accordingly.

Monitor project expenditures and implement cost control measures to meet commitments.

Ensure quality control on assigned projects by offering construction support and conducting job site inspections.

Assist other departments in resolving non-standard or complex substation design issues.

Assign and review the work of department staff to ensure efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements:

Bachelor s degree in engineering from an accredited institution.

Minimum of 15 years of industry experience as a practicing engineer, specializing in substation engineering.

Profound knowledge of substation/control engineering principles and other engineering phases.

Expertise in economic analysis methods, budgeting procedures, and utility engineering practices.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to direct, coordinate, and review the work of a team.

Demonstrated ability to exercise judgment and solve unusual problems independently.

Proficiency in PC applications including word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.

Familiarity with construction methods and material specifications.

Commitment to understanding and complying with all relevant policies, codes, and regulations applicable to the position and company.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality control.

Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines as required.

Willingness to perform related duties as assigned.
