Home Care Agency approved certification preferred.nnTwo (2) years of experience in Acute Care Facility or Skilled Care Facility or three (3) years of Home Health nursing experiencennA 2.3 or above rating (three-point scale) on their most recent Professional Staff Nurse performance evaluation. An annual performance rating of 2.0 or above to maintain the position. A current Home Care Agency approved Nursing certification. UPMC's tuition assistance program supports certification. Nurses with a master's or doctorate degree in Nursing are not required to achieve certification. On an annual basis, nurses in this position must identify and successfully complete a pre-approved professional contribution that supports UPMC's nursing goals. Examples of professional contributions include a patient satisfaction improvement initiative, a work redesign project, recruitment or retention initiative, or a staff development initiative. Successful completion of two (2) standard professional contributions or one (1) standard contribution and UPMC Home Healthcare approved national nursing certification required (Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) may be used in lieu of certification)nnProfessional Staff Nurse requirements:nnGraduate of an accredit school of professional nursing required.nnBachelor's degree preferred.nnPrior nursing experience preferred but not requirednnRange 29.29 – 41.22 * this will depend on your range for PSN (no BSN, etc)nnLicensure, Certifications, and Clearances:nnUPMC approved nursing certification required. Must maintain certification status. Certification not required if master's in nursing is held.nnAutomotive InsurancennBasic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)nnDriver's LicensennRegistered Nurse (RN)nnAct 33 with renewalnnAct 34nnOAPSAnnThe individual must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and/or interact appropriately to the ages of the patients served by his/her assigned unit as specified below. They must also demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patients' status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patients' requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs and to provide the care needs as described in the department policy and procedures.nnTwo (2) years of nursing experience required.BSN preferred. Annual completion of a professional contribution selected from department, hospital or system goals, and approved by Unit Director OR UPMC approved nursing certification required within 1 year of hire/transfer and must be maintained OR Certification not required if Master's in nursing or DNP is held. If a BSN is held, a Master's degree in a related field may be substituted in lieu of CertificationnnAbility to establish and maintain positive, caring relationships with executives, managers, physicians, non-physician providers, ancillary and support staff, other departments, and patients/families. Ability to work productively and effectively within a complex environment, manage multiple/changing priorities and specialized equipment. Good clinical judgment with critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving abilities required as related to various aspects of patient care.nnCritical thinking skills necessary to exercise and to lead others in application of the nursing process. Mobility and visual manual dexterity. Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting, and positioning of patients. Successful completion of Home Health/Hospice Orientation upon hire. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse either in the state where the facility is located or in a state covered by a licensure compact agreement with the state where the facility is located.
