Req Number 117926Job DescriptionThe Strategy Analyst will be a key member of the Strategic Planning analytic team, working with health system senior management, clinical leaders, and hospital executives on strategic/programmatic initiatives. In order to succeed in this dynamic environment, you will provide timely, accurate analyses using large data sets with information such as hospital admissions data, physician claims and demographic statistics. Analyses will focus on providing market intelligence to assist in strategic, program and business decisions.Job ResponsibilityExtract data from multiple sources using MS Access or SQL.Manipulate data in Excel/Power BI to understand trends and identify opportunities in the healthcare market.Highlight key data findings in charts and maps.Prepare PowerPoint slides/Word documents to summarize findings and write up strategies aimed at growing Northwell and meeting the needs of our communities.Research best practices and future trends in various clinical specialties and settings.Assist in program development and space sizing for new ambulatory facilities.Evaluate strategic impact of health policy initiatives and new regulations.Assist in preparation of certificate of need (CON) applications to obtain regulatory approval for new programs.Participate in completing hospital and health system surveys by collaborating with hospitals and health system finance to retrieve information.Preferred SkillsInterest in using data to identify and address social determinants of health.Data skills to identify population health trends to support the design of community health programs to advance health equity.Communication skills for developing strategies aimed at growing Northwell and meeting the needs of our communities.Ability to research best practices and future trends in various health equity and community health initiatives.Critical thinking to evaluate strategic impact of health policy initiatives and new regulations.Job Qualification1-3 years of experience, Bachelors degree required, * Master's degree in a business or healthcare related field preferred but not requiredKnowledge of healthcare obtained through experience working for a hospital, health system or consulting firmSolid verbal and written communication skillsExperience with database, spreadsheet, word processing and presentation softwareAnalytic and critical thinking mindsetAbility to multi-task*Additional Salary DetailThe salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.When determining a team member's base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).The salary range for this position is $58,500-$85,720/yearIt is Northwell Health’s policy to provide equal employment opportunity and treat all applicants and employees equally regardless of their age, race, creed/religion, color, national origin, immigration status or citizenship status, sexual orientation, military or veteran status, sex/gender, gender identity, gender expression, disability, pregnancy, genetic information or genetic predisposition or carrier status, marital or familial status, partnership status, victim of domestic violence, sexual or other reproductive health decisions, or other characteristics protected by applicable law.
