Overview

  The Position  

 

The goal of our Apprenticeship Program is to develop Apprentices into Account Coordinators by the end of the program. In addition to receiving direct mentoring, our Apprentices will attend educational seminars and weekly trainings. Being an apprentice at Allison means that you are fully integrated into the agency culture and your account teams.

 

Allison is seeking an Apprentice to work within our Global Reputation Risk + Public Affairs Practice. We are seeking an individual with prior internship experience or an interest in this area. You will be supporting issues monitoring, reporting, industry and public affairs research to arm the team with the best intel possible to successfully secure the client’s desired outcomes; industry monitoring to flag any trends, issues and media coverage reports for clients including during a crisis; and organize the team with necessary agendas, action items and reports. Global Reputation Risk + Public Affairs Apprentices will be deeply involved in crisis, reputation and issues management situations in a learning capacity that will require someone with attention to detail and critical and analytical thinking skills. 

 

We are looking for go-getters who will roll up their sleeves and help with various projects and assignments. This could be brainstorming a creative media mailer, doing first rounds of market research, creating media list development and client reports; drafting media pitches and ultimately calling the media! You will learn how to develop a strong understanding of the media landscape and take ownership of writing content and researching/analyzing new trends. You might also be involved with the day-to-day execution of our integrated marketing campaigns and ensure deliverables are on track.

 

The program will last 3 months with the potential for the apprentice to become a full-time employee during the program duration or at the end of the assignment.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

  • Tracks and coordinates compilation of client and industry press clippings and client reports
  • Coordinates and executes project management dashboards
  • Conducts entry-level media relations with guidance from AE/SAE; pitching news announcements and conducts follow up via phone and email
  • Conducts research on behalf of clients and the firm, developing competency with Critical Mention, Brandwatch and other online research and monitoring tools
  • Writes first drafts of press materials and holding statements, FAQs
  • Supports event logistics and execution, including on-site support for team and client
  • Spearhead admin duties for team including client weekly and monthly reporting, weekly calls, schedule management, etc.
  • Takes direction well and follows through with a medium level of supervision
  • Meets objectives and deadlines
  • Maintains excellent communication with team and occasionally with the client
Qualifications

What You’ll Need

  • Have a passion for journalism, public relations, media, integrated marketing and/or research
  • A demonstrated creative thinker
  • Skilled in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Knowledgeable in social media
  • Enjoy working in collaborative, cross-office, team environment
  • A quick learner with a “can-do” attitude and relentless attention to detail
  • A self-motivated multi-tasker and clear communicator, both written and verbal
  • Apprentices must be able to work a full-time work week

In order to  comply with  equal pay and salary transparency laws in various locations,  the hourly salary for this position is $20/hourly.
