WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

Supporting the Surface Mount Technology (SMT) production lines for Flexible, Metal and Printed Circuit Board products. Creating a smooth transition for new models from SMT Engineering to SMT Production Technicians by:

· Supporting the full product life cycle by performing cost estimation for new business, developing, and setting up all machines, fixtures, documents and procedures needed to create a stable SMT assembly process with strong capability.

· Continuously rotate the PDCA cycle to achieve customer satisfaction of delivering a quality part at a competitive price on a timely basis.

· Ensuring high quality by using external and internal drawings and BOM's for Printed Circuit Board to confirm customer requirements.

· Implementing and leading multiple projects for new model development and improvement projects.

· Attaining competitiveness while developing a quality product by reviewing new model development drawings, theorizing improvement ideas, developing cost estimations, and addressing quality concerns.

· Providing Engineering support and excellent customer service to Electronics Manufacturing, Sales and Purchasing.

· Ensuring all documentation meets ISO requirements.

All levels are responsible for the above tasks, but there are different guidelines for each:

Engineer I

· Can perform these tasks with assistance of higher-level engineers or management.

· Focus is on learning and developing these skills.

· Projects are assigned with schedules coming from management.

Engineer II

· Controls all aspects of job duties independently with minimal supervision.

· Is developing into an expert of all job duties and begins to lead development.t

· Projects and schedules are self-initiated and reported to management.

Engineer III

· Directs high level engineering duties with high level of customer satisfaction.

· Has developed a mastery of all skills and job duties.

· Begins developing and training lower-level engineers.

· May be responsible for managing design approvals and day-to-day tasks for Level I and II Engineers.

Senior Engineer

· Directs high level engineering duties with high level of customer satisfaction.

· Has developed a mastery of all skills and job duties.

· Secondary responsibility of developing and training lower-level engineers.

· Responsible for managing design approvals and day-to-day tasks for subordinates.

HOW YOU WILL QUALIFY:

Engineering Levels are based on individual knowledge, skills abilities and may include items not listed:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Related Field OR

· 2 Year Degree + 2 Years OJT in Technical Field OR · 4+ Years OJT working in Technical Field

§ Engineer l: 0 to 2+ years OJT knowledge & skill

§ Engineer II: 3 to 6+ OJT knowledge & skill

§ Engineer III: 4 to 7+ OJT knowledge & skill, with leadership potential

§ Senior Engineer: 8+ OJT knowledge & skill, with demonstrated leadership skills

· Full understanding of SMT Reflow Soldering process including Paste Printing, Solder Paste Inspection (SPI), Pick and Place, Reflow, Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) and equipment/software support systems.

· Strong background in process traceability using barcodes to control line setup and track product and components through the entire process. Familiarity with Direct Part Marking (DPM) using Lasers for Printed & Flexible Circuit Boards.

· Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, Project & PowerPoint being able to use pre-existing document templates as well as create new ones from scratch.

· Knowledge of AC/DC electronics and ability to use benchtop power supplies, digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc. and ability to read and trace circuit schematics.

· Lean Manufacturing Training

· Experience with PCB CAD/CAM software (Altium, OrCad, etc.) and data formats (Gerber, ODB++) 2D/3D CAD Software (CATIA, Autodesk Inventor/AutoCAD, Solidworks, etc.)

These qualifications are preferred but not necessary for you to get started:

· Soldering Experience Preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS:

· General Office Environment 4 hours per day.

· Manufacturing Environment (Cleanroom) 3 hours per day. (Requires changing of smock & footwear when entering Office or Cleanroom)

· Warehouse/Forklift (uncrating/installing/moving equipment) 5~10 days per year

· Lifting up to lift 40 lbs.

· Approximately 2 hours per day bending

· Using pallet jack, carts and racks for moving and storing equipment & fixtures

· Occasional overnight travel may be required to perform essential functions at remote locations or receive training.

· Required to work overtime (unplanned and unscheduled) to meet customer deadlines and requirements.

HAZARDS:

While performing the job the position is frequently exposed to moving or mechanical parts, chemicals, elevated thermal conditions with moderate noise levels with specific areas required to wear hearing protection.
