Positions in this sub-family are responsible for the efficient transportation and distribution of raw materials and finished products to customers, retailers and to other facilities within the organization. Transportation Manager activities include selecting the most efficient transportation procedures according to cost, timing, and handling frame-work; establishing and monitoring product delivery schedules; tracking, recording and following-up shipments; managing relationships with transport contractors; loading, unloading and transporting products; and maintaining the vehicle and equipment fleet. **Responsibilities**

Works on problems of moderate scope and assists with projects or processes while receiving general instructions from higher level professionals

Applies research towards the planning, design development, testing, and completion of projects

Impact is short-term, occasionally on medium-term goals

Continues building knowledge of organization and processes

May influence others within the job area through explanation of facts, policies, and practices

Building daily loads for shipping tires and parts to outbound suppliers

Working closely with carriers and drivers to ensure on-time delivery

**Qualifications**

Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Transportation, Operations or related field preferred

Minimum of 1 year related transportation and shipping experience
