Job Title: Transportation Planner

Job Descriptions:

MAJOR ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• customer orders, plan & optimize shipments into loads, tender freight to
• carriers.
• Transportation Management System with current shipment information.
• detailed instruction to various customers & associates from other shifts by phone and e-mail.
• visibility to management and the customer by tracking, process oversight, auditing, researching and troubleshooting operational issues or functions.
• daily logs and trackers.
• load exception investigation and reporting.
• management of outbound transportation and delivery.
• and send orders/requests to multiple carriers for outbound shipments distribution centers/customers.
• all compliance rate & optimal carrier usage.
• all pickup and delivery appointments are made between receiver and Customer Company's order lists and track orders to ensure on-time delivery (TMS) to receiver.
• relationships with all carriers and communicate internal/external challenges between Customer Company and receivers and develop solutions to the challenges.
• scorecard with carriers on a weekly/monthly/quarterly basis to ensure all KPI's are being met and develops action plans to ensure compliance to KPI's.
• and prompt communication skills with customers to solve any delivery issues.
• interpersonal skills required to communicate effectively with senior level management.
• various reports on a daily basis.
• projects and tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Degree in Business or Supply Chain Management preferred
• (1) plus year of experience in Transportation/Supply Chain preferred
• to manage multiple tasks and prioritize time sensitive situations in a
• paced environment
• problem solving and analytical skills
• be able to learn and regularly operate various computer systems across
• platforms
