Your Role
Inventory Control Manager

As an Inventory Control Manager with us, you'll be hands-on, with heavy emphasis on leading inventory and controlling the activities that relate to inventory and tool management
What You’ll Be Doing
Essential Functions
Inventory Control
- Handle all aspects of inventory movement of materials and tools, including stocking, re-stocking, and accounting for every item in the warehouse.
- Ensures standard inventory movement / control protocol and best practices are exercised throughout the operational workflow
- Compile and maintain records of the quantity, type, and value of the inventory on hand.
- Act as SME of inventory control / management with the organization through new business integrations or divestment
- Drives monthly and year-end inventory cycle counts / Physical Inventory, inventory variance / reconciliation activities, and reports performance results.
- Responsible for reconciling warehouse OH balance discrepancies between WMS and Customer system.
- Coordinates inventory requirements and procurement details with the division’s Operations Manager or other management, depending on site.
- Track the transportation and distribution of tool and material inventory.
- Ensures proper approval levels are obtained and documented against varying levels of inventory adjustments.
- Proper documentation is archived for audit / compliance purposes.
- Oversees the records of all stocks and compiles evaluation reports, including daily audits.
- Evaluate general inventory best practices and provide recommendations accordingly. Such areas may include: Proper bin / location sizing, location labeling, adjustment practices, proper inventory segments, Cycle Count / Physical Inventory program approach, aged inventory reporting and actioning, proper material flow, system adjustment protocol, reconciliation practices.
Guiding Inventory/Materials Team
- Trains and coaches supporting inventory team to ensure work is performed as per standard operating procedures.
- May require maintaining certifications or licenses in order to properly train team members in proper handling (forklift, pallet jack, etc.)
- Manages feedback about performance and job expectations to ensure respectful accountability.
- Collaborates with Warehouse Manager or other members of management in partnership with HR to resolve employee concerns.
Safe and Efficient Facility Team Member
- Address and report all equipment defects or maintenance needs to maintain safe and efficient use. Follow all procedures, policies and know the equipment before using it.
- Speak up when observing something that may be unsafe or someone performing unsafe acts.
- Efficiently perform work according to standard operating procedures.
Marginal Functions:
- Direct managerial responsibility over Inventory Control team
- May assume responsibility for additional inventory-related projects, as assigned
- Support the daily operations and task assignment of other departments, depending on site, and as-needed to cover absences.
- Occasional transportation of finished goods to other local warehouse or customer storage site via truck or van, as required by site/customer.
Education/Knowledge/Skill Requirements:
Required
- Understands basics / fundamentals of all inventory control including Cycle Counting, Physical Inventory execution, proper receiving to put-away and picking to shipping protocol, cosmetics inspection, quarantine inventory protocol, variance reconciliation and reporting, performance reporting, etc.
- Familiar with how to read and action inventory reporting
- At least 5 years’ experience in transportation, warehouse, distribution or other related environment.
- Excellent communications skills (written, verbal & listening) and interpersonal skills needed in order to interface with and influence all levels of personnel.
- Prior experience using a forklift (certified is desired) and pallet jacks
- Ability to work Monday through Friday assigned schedule, with occasional required weekends and overtime.
- Ability to push and pull up to 75 pounds and lift up to 50 pounds.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in transportation, warehousing, and/or distribution environment desired.
- Current valid Driver’s License, if there is a need for transporting finished goods. Must also be at least 23 years of age.
- Demonstrated knowledge of inventory management and quality management.
- Must have strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize daily work and meet all internal and external deadlines.
